Architecture of petawatt-class z-pinch accelerators

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2007
We have developed an accelerator architecture that can serve as the basis of the design of petawatt-class z-pinch drivers. The architecture has been applied to the design of two z-pinch accelerators, each of which can be contained within a 104-m-diameter

Motion of metallic particle near the conical insulator of UHVAC gas‐insulated transmission line

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2018
The UHV gas‐insulated transmission line (GIL) has the advantages of large transmission capacity, high operation reliability, and environmental friendliness. It is suitable for the power transmission of hydropower stations and nuclear power stations and the restricted environmental or geographical conditions.

Possible safety hazards associated with the operation of the 0.3-m transonic cryogenic tunnel at the NASA Langley Research Center [PDF]

open access: yes
The 0.3 m Transonic Cryogenic Tunnel (TCT) at the NASA Langley Research Center was built in 1973 as a facility intended to be used for no more than 60 hours in order to verify the validity of the cryogenic wind tunnel concept at transonic speeds.

Synergistic All‐in‐One Electroceutical Platform Utilizing a Plasma–Photodynamic Hybrid Approach for Enhanced Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A flexible hybrid patch integrating a robust cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) system with a high‐power, ultrathin bio‐OLED was developed to enable synergistic wound healing. This multimodal therapy, combining plasma and photodynamic treatment, enhanced angiogenesis, cell proliferation, and collagen deposition, demonstrating superior in vivo efficacy and ...

A Printed Zinc‐Ion Microbattery with Extended Shelf Life and Durability for Energy Autonomous Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a fully printed aqueous zinc‐ion microbattery (ZnIB) enabled by graphene‐decorated zinc anode and printed MnO@NC cathode using sustainable aqueous‐based ink formulations. The printed 3D electrodes ensure uniform zinc deposition, low overpotential, and long‐term stability.

A novel GIS breakdown location method based on natural frequency of transient voltage

open access: yesHigh Voltage
During on‐site withstand voltage tests of gas‐insulated switchgears (GIS), once a breakdown occurs, it is hard to locate the breakdown position due to the intricate branch structures and minimal breakdown energy.

Non-Abelian spin-orbit gauge: Persistent spin helix and quantum square ring

open access: yes, 2007
We re-express the Rashba and Dresselhaus interactions as non-Abelian spin-orbit gauges and provide a new perspective in understanding the persistent spin helix [Phys. Rev. Lett. 97, 236601 (2006)].
