COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Effect of gastric acid‐reducing agents on the pharmacokinetics and efficacy of lemborexant

open access: yesPharmacology Research & Perspectives, 2020
Lemborexant is a dual orexin receptor antagonist approved for treating insomnia. As the solubility of lemborexant is pH‐sensitive, the impact of the gastric acid‐reducing agent (ARA), famotidine, on lemborexant pharmacokinetics was evaluated in a Phase 1

Motilin Stimulates Gastric Acid Secretion in Coordination with Ghrelin in Suncus murinus. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Motilin and ghrelin constitute a peptide family, and these hormones are important for the regulation of gastrointestinal motility. In this study, we examined the effect of motilin and ghrelin on gastric acid secretion in anesthetized suncus (house musk ...

Precise role of H pylori in duodenal ulceration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The facts that H pylori infection is commoner in duodenal ulcer (DU) patients than in the normal population, and that eradication results in most cases being cured, have led to the belief that it causes DU. However, early cases of DU are less likely than

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

A review of the most important native medicinal plants of Iran effective on gastric acid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Gastrointestinal diseases such as gastric acid hypersecretion are highly prevalent. Gastrointestinal diseases manifest frequently with gastric and duodendal ulcers, gastritis, and dyspepsia which are due to impaired gastric acid secretion.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Effects of supplemental hydrochloric acid and sodium bicarbonate on gastric acid secretion, digestive enzyme activities, intestinal microflora of early weaned piglets

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2005
Thirty crossbred weanling piglets with an average initial weight of 5.25 kg, weaned at (28±1) d of age, were divided into five groups to determine the effect of hydrochloric acid (HCl) and sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) supplementation on gastric acid ...
