Endoscopic Management of Acute Gastric Anisakiasis
Endoscopy, 1979Early endoscopy was performed in six cases of acute gastric anisakiasis. Immediately after detecting the larva of anisakis, the larval body was extracted together with its surrounding mucosa by a biopsy forceps. With the removal of the larva, severe colic pain subsided rapidly.

Distinguishing gastric anisakiasis from non-anisakiasis using unenhanced computed tomography
Abdominal Radiology, 2017This study aimed to assess the diagnostic performance of unenhanced computed tomography (CT) for distinguishing gastric anisakiasis from non-anisakiasis gastric conditions and the reproducibility of CT findings.Fifty-six anisakiasis and 74 non-anisakiasis cases with gastric wall thickening on urgent observation using unenhanced CT were included.

Nine cases of acute gastric anisakiasis
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, 1989From 1983 to 1988, we treated 19 patients with acute gastritis which was highly suggestive of gastritis anisakiasis. Almost all of these patients complained of sharp, periodic, upper abdominal pains which occurred several hours after ingestion of raw fish.

Anisakiasis is a disease which occurs following eating raw fish infected with anisakis larvae. Many cases have been reported from Japan and from other countries with increasing opportunities of eating raw fish such as "sushi" and "sashimi." We have reviewed 28 patients with acute gastric anisakiasis during the last 10 years from November 1984 to ...

Pathology of Gastric Anisakiasis
1989Anisakiasis of the alimentary tract is divided into two types—gastric and intestinal anisakiasis. There are clear differences in the clinical and pathological findings between these two types. Van Thiel et al. [1] reported that most cases in the Netherlands were of the intestinal type. This was also found in the cases of the Iwanai district in Hokkaido,

From 1969 to 1984, we treated 178 patients with acute gastric anisakiasis caused by gastric mucosal penetration of theAnisakislarvae. Because the larvae ofAnisakiscan always be observed by endoscopy and removed with biopsy forceps, early performance of endoscopy is highly recommended for patients in whom acute gastric anisakiasis is suspected and for ...

Clinical Manifestation of Gastric Anisakiasis
1989We diagnosed 72 patients in the Hokuriku district as having gastric anisakiasis following gastric fiberscope examination in our clinic over a 9-year period (January 1977 to December 1985). The patients were treated by removal of the larva in all cases. The clinical manifestations of gastric anisakiasis in these cases are described in this chapter.

PET/CT Findings in Acute Gastric Anisakiasis
Clinical Nuclear Medicine, 2014Acute gastric anisakiasis is caused by the consumption of raw or undercooked fish containing Anisakis larvae. Although several reports have demonstrated the CT features of acute gastric anisakiasis, little is known about the FDG PET/CT findings. We report a 59-year-old woman who underwent FDG PET/CT and was finally diagnosed as having acute gastric ...
