microRNAs expression profile related with response to preoperative radiochemotherapy in patients with locally advanced gastric cancer

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2018
Background It is urgent to find some biochemical markers for predicting the radiochemotherapy sensitivity. microRNAs have a huge potential as a predictive biomarker in gastric cancer.

Analysis of lymph node metastasis in early gastric cancer: a single institutional experience from China

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgical Oncology, 2020
Background Lymph node metastasis (LNM) has a strong influence on the prognosis of patients with early gastric cancer (EGC). The aim of this study was to reveal the incidence of LNM and evaluate risk factors for LNM to determine the appropriate treatment ...

The prognostic impact of EGFR, ErbB2 and MET gene amplification in human gastric carcinomas as measured by quantitative Real-Time PCR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Purpose: Identification of critical genes which play pivotal roles in controlling tumor growth and survival will establish the basis for developing therapeutic targets. In this study, we focused on frequencies of EGFR, ErbB2 and MET gene amplification in

Celastrol induces ROS-mediated apoptosis via directly targeting peroxiredoxin-2 in gastric cancer cells

open access: yesTheranostics, 2020
Background: Oxidative stress from elevated reactive oxygen species (ROS) has been reported to induce cell apoptosis and may provide a means to target cancer cells.

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

CoCo DistillNet: a Cross-layer Correlation Distillation Network for Pathological Gastric Cancer Segmentation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
In recent years, deep convolutional neural networks have made significant advances in pathology image segmentation. However, pathology image segmentation encounters with a dilemma in which the higher-performance networks generally require more computational resources and storage.

The esophagogastric junctional adenocarcinoma an increasing disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Identifying and defining the esophagogastric junctional adenocarcinoma (EGJA) as an independent disease apart from gastric cancer (GC) and esophagus cancer (EG) it has always been a difficult issue entailing doubts about the appropriate therapeutic ...

Inhibitor of DNA binding‐1 is a key regulator of cancer cell vasculogenic mimicry

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated expression of transcriptional regulator inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (ID1) promoted cancer cell‐mediated vasculogenic mimicry (VM) through regulation of pro‐angiogenic and pro‐cancerous genes (e.g. VE‐cadherin (CDH5), TIE2, MMP9, DKK1). Higher ID1 expression also increased metastases to the lung and the liver.

Report of two patients in whom comparisons of the somatic mutation profile were useful for the diagnosis of metastatic tumors

open access: yesSurgical Case Reports, 2022
Background When a patient has multiple tumors in different organs, it is very important to identify whether the tumors are multiple cancers or metastasis from one tumor in order to establish an optimal treatment strategy.
