Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Gastric Emptying Scintigraphy [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Medicine Technology, 2019
In 1966, Griffith et al. used “a standard breakfast of ordinary food” labeled with chromium-51 to report the first use of gastric emptying scintigraphy (GES). As the procedure was refined over the years, investigators realized the importance of the radiotracer binding to the meal to ...

Toward Wireless Implantable Robotic Systems Driven by Magnetic Field for Personalized Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Robotic materials are playing an increasingly vital role in enabling sensing and actuation at small scales. This perspective highlights recent advances in magnetic materials and magnetically actuated devices for wireless sensing, actuation, and energy harvesting toward implantable robotic systems for closed‐loop therapy.

The addition of locust bean gum but not water delayed the gastric emptying rate of a nutrient semisolid meal in healthy subjects

open access: yesBMC Gastroenterology, 2003
Background Most of the previous studies regarding the effects of gel-forming fibres have considered the gastric emptying of liquid or solid meals after the addition of pectin or guar gum.

Comparison of gastric motility in patients of type 2 diabetes mellitus with various degrees of glycemic control

open access: yesWorld Journal of Nuclear Medicine, 2021
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of glycemic control as estimated by glycated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) on gastric emptying in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) using gastric emptying scintigraphy (GES).

QBP1 Peptide as a Potential Anti‐Amyloidogenic Therapy for Type 2 Diabetes: An In Vitro Study

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The anti‐amyloidogenic peptide QBP1 effectively halts human islet amyloid polypeptide (hIAPP) aggregation, preventing the formation of toxic β‐structured intermediates. Through a combination of biophysical assays, molecular dynamics, and cell‐based studies, QBP1 is shown to preserve β‐cell viability and metabolic homeostasis, positioning it as a ...

Multiple myeloma presenting in association with gastric phytobezoar

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, 2017
Key Clinical Message We present a rare case of a patient with delayed gastric emptying, gastric phytobezoar formation, and osteosclerotic bone lesions as an atypical association with multiple myeloma. Associated gastric features in myeloma, which include

PET Imaging of Cardiac Inflammation in Viral Myocarditis Using a DPP4‐Targeted Probe

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study describes a DPP4‐targeted PET probe for imaging myocardial inflammation by selectively targeting activated immune cells. Derived from the clinically approved small‐molecule inhibitor linagliptin, the probe demonstrates favorable biodistribution with specific cardiac uptake in myocarditis.

HNRNPU K181 Lactylation Drives Cervical Cancer Growth by Upregulating PHGDH and Reprogramming Serine Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactate in cervical cancer induces HNRNPU K181 lactylation, opposed by NAA50‐mediated acetylation and suppressed by Pazopanib. This lactylation enhances HNRNPU binding to PHGDH pre‐mRNA exon 1, maintaining exon 1‐containing transcripts and mRNA stability, thereby activating serine metabolism.
