Orally administered recombinant human type III collagen protects the gastric mucosa from ethanol‐induced injury by coordinating redox homeostasis, epithelial barrier repair, and arachidonic acid–prostaglandin metabolism. Gastric digestion releases the pentapeptide GPAEF, which interacts with the Pla2g4a promoter G‐quadruplex in a structure‐dependent ...

Thyroid antimicrosomal antibodies, gastric parietal cell antibodies (PCA) and antinuclear factors were studied in 208 insulin dependent diabetic (IDD) according to the duration of diabetes and patient's age at the time of testing. Antimicrosomal antibodies were found in 11 out of 47 (23.4%) IDD with the duration of less than one year, however this ...

Identification of parietal cells in gastric body mucosa with HMFG-2 monoclonal antibody. [PDF]
AIMS--To identify parietal cells in the upper gastrointestinal tract by an immunoperoxidase method, using commercially available monoclonal antibodies. METHODS--Routine surgical biopsy specimens of gastric body mucosa were examined using the avidin-biotin peroxidase method with the monoclonal antibodies HMFG-1 and HMFG-2 to identify parietal cells ...

A Spotlight on Yolk‐sac Tumors: Molecular Pathology, Current Diagnostics, and Novel Therapeutics
ABSTRACT Background Yolk‐sac tumors are an aggressive subtype of testicular cancer that significantly contribute to disease progression and therapy resistance, especially in adults. While testicular cancer generally has high cure rates with cisplatin‐based treatment, adult yolk‐sac tumors often appear as components of mixed tumors with poor response to

Helicobacter pylori-induced histone modification, associated gene expression in gastric epithelial cells, and its implication in pathogenesis. [PDF]
Histone modifications are critical in regulating gene expression, cell cycle, cell proliferation, and development. Relatively few studies have investigated whether Helicobacter pylori, the major cause of human gastric diseases, affects histone ...
