Mucosal gastrin receptor. III. Regulation by gastrin

American Journal of Physiology-Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology, 1980
Specific binding of 125I-labeled gastrin to rat gastric mucosal membranes was found to vary with serum gastrin levels. The dissociation equilibrium constants were not significantly different between receptor preparations. However, the binding capacities of the membrane preparations were directly correlated with serum gastrin levels. Fasting, feeding a

Radioimmunoassay of Gastrin: Specificity of Gastrin Antisera

Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology, 1969
Antisera for use in a gastrin radioimmunoassay have been prepared in two ways and their specificity compared. Antibodies to porcine antral gastrin were found to be specific for the N-terminal portion of the molecule; there was no cross-reaction with pentagastrin or pancreozymin.

[Gastrin and gastrin receptor].

Nihon rinsho. Japanese journal of clinical medicine, 1996
Gastrin is a well known endogenous stimulator of gastric acid. In addition, recent studies have revealed that gastrin has a growth promoting effect on gastric ECL cells. Indeed, development of ECL carcinoid tumor occurs almost exclusively in patients with hypergastrinemia such as autoimmune gastritis and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome with MEN type I.

Gastrin.

Clinical and investigative medicine. Medecine clinique et experimentale, 1987
Gastrin is the most important peptide in the regulation of gastric acid secretion. This communication reviews important new developments in our knowledge of its synthesis, action, and pathophysiology. The gene for human gastrin has been isolated, and it encodes a pre-pro-gastrin which is a 101-aminoacid peptide containing within it the structure of big
