Do postoperative infectious complications really affect long‐term survival in colorectal cancer surgery? A multicenter retrospective cohort study

This multicenter retrospective cohort study suggested that postoperative infection (PI) after curative colorectal surgery (CRC) is associated with impaired oncological outcomes. Strategies to prevent PI and implement appropriate postoperative treatment may improve the quality of care and oncological outcomes in patients undergoing curative CRC surgery.

Generation of Advanced Blood–Brain Barrier Spheroids Using Human‐Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell‐Derived Brain Capillary Endothelial‐Like Cells

In this article, the establishment and characterization of a self‐assembled 3D BBB spheroid model using human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)‐derived and primary cells is reported. Spheroids demonstrate in‐vivo like tight junction ultrastructure and, in comparison to 2D mono‐cultures, higher transcript expression of BBB specific genes.
