Derivation and Validation of a Predictive Model for Advanced Colorectal Neoplasia Among Average‐Risk Adults in China

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 6, Page 1455-1463, 15 September 2026.
Efficient pre‐colonoscopy risk stratification tools are needed, especially in China. Using multicenter colorectal cancer screening data from Shandong Province, the authors developed and validated a risk prediction model for advanced colorectal neoplasia in asymptomatic individuals using sociodemographic characteristics, lifestyle factors, and medical ...

Not all NTRK fusions in mesenchymal neoplasia are driver events: implications on classification and targeted therapy

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology: Clinical Research, Volume 12, Issue 5, September 2026.
Abstract NTRK fusions drive the pathogenesis of a distinctive group of mesenchymal neoplasms with significant impact on classification and targeted therapy. However, unexpected NTRK fusions have been reported in other sarcoma entities, raising uncertainty over their specificity and clinical management.

Increased CCR5 expression in lymphoma cells and M2 macrophages is associated with poor prognosis in primary intestinal diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology: Clinical Research, Volume 12, Issue 5, September 2026.
Abstract Few studies have evaluated the impact of organ‐specific tumor microenvironments (TMEs) on clinical outcomes in diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma (DLBCL). This study investigated potential molecular markers, the immune cell composition within the TME, and their associations with clinical outcomes in patients with primary intestinal DLBCL (PI‐DLBCL).

Fibroblast Activation Protein Expression Differs Between Inflamed and Fibrostenotic Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesJCC Plus, Volume 1, Issue 5, September 2026.
This study demonstrates that fibroblast activation protein expression is elevated in inflamed and fibrostenotic inflammatory bowel disease, with highest levels in fibrostenotic Crohn's disease. Cellular fibroblast activation protein predominates in inflamed tissues and localises to α‐SMA−PDPN−CD90+ stromal cells. ABSTRACT Background Intestinal fibrosis

Lost in Translation: Why Biologic Therapies for Intervertebral Disc Degeneration and Low Back Pain Have Not Reached the Clinic (Yet)

open access: yesJOR SPINE, Volume 9, Issue 3, September 2026.
From preclinical promise to clinical translation in intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD). Robust preclinical evidence supports a range of biologic therapies, with consistent improvements in imaging, extracellular matrix composition, inflammation, and behavior.
