Diffusion Tractography Biomarker for Epilepsy Severity in Children With Drug‐Resistant Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To develop a novel deep‐learning model of clinical DWI tractography that can accurately predict the general assessment of epilepsy severity (GASE) in pediatric drug‐resistant epilepsy (DRE) and test if it can screen diverse neurocognitive impairments identified through neuropsychological assessments.

Gaussian zonoids, Gaussian determinants and Gaussian random fields

open access: yesTheory of Probability and Mathematical Statistics
We study the Vitale zonoid (a convex body related to a probability distribution) associated to a non-centered Gaussian vector. This defines a family of convex bodies, that contains and generalizes ellipsoids, which we call Gaussian zonoids. We show that each Gaussian zonoid can be approximated by an ellipsoid that we compute explicitely.

The MMP‐9/TIMP‐1 Ratio and Concentrations of Osteopontin Are Elevated in Cerebrospinal Fluid of People With Multiple Sclerosis and Decrease After Autologous Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the utility of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers—matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP‐9), tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases‐1 (TIMP‐1), the MMP‐9/TIMP‐1 ratio, and osteopontin (OPN)—as indicators of blood–brain barrier (BBB) integrity and disease activity in people with relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (pwMS ...

Photometric Redshifts and Photometry Errors

open access: yes, 2007
We examine the impact of non-Gaussian photometry errors on photometric redshift performance. We find that they greatly increase the scatter, but this can be mitigated to some extent by incorporating the correct noise model into the photometric redshift ...

Gaussian Transformations and Distillation of Entangled Gaussian States [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2002
We prove that it is impossible to distill more entanglement from a single copy of a two-mode bipartite entangled Gaussian state via LOCC Gaussian operations. More generally, we show that any hypothetical distillation protocol for Gaussian states involving only Gaussian operations would be a deterministic protocol.

Optimized Time–Frequency Analysis for Induction Motor Fault Detection Using Hybrid Differential Evolution and Deep Learning Techniques

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
Workflow of the parameter optimization process for ITSC fault detection, applying Differential Evolution optimization and the Smooth Pseudo Wigner‐Ville Distribution for signal processing. The optimized parameters are then used in the failure identification pipeline, which combines the signal processing with a YOLO‐based architecture for fault severity

Mosque As the Center of Economic Empowerment of the Millennial Generation in Garut Regency

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance
Mosques are the most important facilities for Muslims. There needs to be efforts by mosque administrators to make mosques the center of Muslim civilization, especially in efforts to empower the millennial generation.

Semiclassical Propagation of Wavepackets with Real and Complex Trajectories

open access: yes, 2005
We consider a semiclassical approximation for the time evolution of an originally gaussian wave packet in terms of complex trajectories. We also derive additional approximations replacing the complex trajectories by real ones. These yield three different

Infrared Neural Stimulation Elicits Distinct Molecular Pathways in Astrocytes Based on Laser Pulse Parameters

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Infrared (IR) light evokes distinct calcium and water transport responses in astrocytes, depending on stimulation duration and protocol. This study uses widefield imaging and pharmacology to reveal differential engagement of astroglial signaling pathways.

Operational discord measure for Gaussian states with Gaussian measurements

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2015
We introduce an operational discord-type measure for quantifying nonclassical correlations in bipartite Gaussian states based on using Gaussian measurements. We refer to this measure as operational Gaussian discord (OGD).
