Adverse prognosis gene expression patterns in metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We aggregated a cohort of 1012 mCRPC tissue samples from 769 patients and investigated the association of gene expression‐based pathways with clinical outcomes. Loss of AR signaling, high proliferation, and a glycolytic phenotype were independently prognostic for poor outcomes, and an adverse transcriptional feature score incorporating these pathways ...

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Analysis of gas chromatography/mass spectrometry data for catalytic lignin depolymerization using positive matrix factorization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Various catalytic technologies are being developed to efficiently convert lignin into renewable chemicals. However, due to its complexity, catalytic lignin depolymerization often generates a wide and complex distribution of product compounds.

Gelechiidae Moths Are Capable of Chemically Dissolving the Pollen of Their Host Plants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Background: Many insects feed on pollen surface lipids and contents accessible through the germination pores. Pollen walls, however, are not broken down because they consist of sporopollenin and are highly resistant to physical and enzymatic damage. Here

EMT‐associated bias in the Parsortix® system observed with pancreatic cancer cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The Parsortix® system was tested for CTC enrichment using pancreatic cancer cell lines with different EMT phenotypes. Spike‐in experiments showed lower recovery of mesenchymal‐like cells. This was confirmed with an EMT‐inducible breast cancer cell line.

Determination of Endosulfan Concentrations in Biological Samples by GC-MS/MS [PDF]

open access: yesFayixue Zazhi, 2018
Objective To establish an analytical method of the endosulfan concentrations (α-endosulfan and β-endosulfan) in biological samples by GC-MS/MS. To observe the distribution of endosulfan in aquatic animals and provide experimental evidence for forensic ...

Baitmet, a computational approach for GC–MS library-driven metabolite profiling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Current computational tools for gas chromatography – mass spectrometry (GC – MS) metabolomics profiling do not focus on metabolite identification, that still remains as the entire workflow bottleneck and it relies on manual d ata reviewing.
