Pathogenicity and Antimicrobial‐Resistance Profiles of Escherichia coli Isolated From Faeces of Tibetan Pigs Reared Under Intensive Conditions

Veterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, May 2026.
Tibetan pig farms host diverse Escherichia coli strains that resist multiple antibiotics and carry important disease genes, such as astA. These traits jump easily between bacterial groups, marking intensive pig production as a key reservoir and signalling the need for integrated animal–human surveillance and more careful antibiotic use.

Diversity, Host Attachment Preferences and Role of Tick Rhipicephalus microplus in the Transmission of Bartonella spp. and Rickettsia spp. in Cattle From Southern Benin

Ticks infesting cattle in Southern Benin were investigated for diversity, attachment preferences and zoonotic bacteria. Among 2210 ticks collected from 540 cattle, Rhipicephalus microplus predominated (79.6%). Ticks mainly attached to ears, axillae and trunk. spa Typing and Antibiotic Resistance Profiles of Methicillin‐Resistant Staphylococcus aureus Isolates From Broilers in Ilam, Iran

This study characterized MRSA in broilers in Ilam, Iran. Of 200 swabs, 107 Staphylococcus aureus isolates were confirmed by femA PCR, of which 9 (8.41%) were MRSA (mecA‐positive). spa typing revealed five distinct types, with t011 dominant (40%). Novel types for Iran included t304, t567 and t1184.
