Automatic computation of hierarchical biquadratic smoothing splines with minimum GCV

open access: yesComputers & Geosciences, 2006
A computationally efficient numerical strategy for fitting approximate minimum GCV bivariate thin plate smoothing splines to large noisy data sets was developed. The procedure discretises the bivariate thin plate smoothing spline equations using biquadratic B-splines and uses a nested grid SOR iterative strategy to solve the discretised system.

Risk Profiles in Hospitalized Adults Based on Functional Capacity, Pressure Injury Risk, and Fall Risk: A Cluster and Multiple Correspondence Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Nursing Scholarship, Volume 58, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Patient safety is a global priority, as adverse events represent the 14th leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Among the most common complications in hospitalized adults are functional decline, pressure injuries, and falls, all of which increase hospital stays, healthcare costs, and mortality. Although these risks are

Real GIT with applications to compatible representations and Wick-rotations

open access: yes, 2019
Motivated by Wick-rotations of pseudo-Riemannian manifolds, we study real geometric invariant theory (GIT) and compatible representations. We extend some of the results from earlier works \cite{W2,W1}, in particular, we give some sufficient as well as ...

GKB-GCV Method for Solving Generic Tikhonov Regularization Problems

open access: yesGSTF Journal of Mathematics, Statistics and Operations Research, 2016
AbstractThe W-GCV method is one of the iterative methods used to solve a large scale Vtandard form of the Tikhonov regularization, but it is also necessary for solving the general form of the Tikhonov regularization. This paper proposes a new solver, called GKB-GCV, which is an extension of the W-GCV by using the GSVD.

Genetic analysis and qtl mapping of agro-morphological traits in lowland rice (Oryza sativa L.) under drought conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The present study was undertaken to evaluate lowland rice genetic variability associated with agro-morphological traits under drought condition. A set of 250 recombinant inbred lines (RILs) from the cross between rice parental cultivarIR64 (sensitive to ...

Genetic parameters, character association and path analysis for fruit yield and its component characters in guava (Psidium guajava L.)

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2019
The present investigation was conducted to estimate genetic parameters, correlations and path coefficients from different traits of nine genotypes in guava. The genotypes exhibited a wide range of variability for all the characters studied.

Associated production in K+p interactions at 3.5 GcV/c

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1970
Abstract In a recently completed experiment using 3.54 GeV/c K+ mesons in the BNL 80-inch chamber, we have investigated the two-prong plus one or two VO topology for events with associated production. We find no evidence for any production of any hypercharge 2 states.

Estimation of variability parameters for certain quantitative traits in cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) genotypes

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2018
Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) is an important plantation crop of Malvaceae family and its center of origin is Upper Amazon basin of South America. In India, it is grown as an intercrop in coconut and arecanut gardens especially in South India.
