New Multi-Step Iterative Methods for Solving Systems of Nonlinear Equations and Their Application on GNSS Pseudorange Equations

open access: yesSensors, 2020
A two-step fifth and a multi-step 5+3r order iterative method are derived, r≥1 for finding the solution of system of nonlinear equations. The new two-step fifth order method requires two functions, two first order derivatives, and the multi-step methods ...

Satellite Availability and Service Performance Evaluation for Next-Generation GNSS, RNSS and LEO Augmentation Constellation

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2021
Positioning accuracy is affected by the combined effect of user range errors and the geometric distribution of satellites. Dilution of precision (DOP) is defined as the geometric strength of visible satellites.

GDOP Bounds for GNSS Augmented with Range Information

open access: yesION GNSS+, The International Technical Meeting of the Satellite Division of The Institute of Navigation, 2017
Code phase GNSS receivers convert the measured satellite pseudoranges into estimates of the position and clock offset of the receiver, typically via an iterative, linearized least squares method. Since the pseudoranges themselves are noisy, the resulting estimates of position and time are random variables.

Impacts of the May 2024 Extreme Geomagnetic Storm on Global High‐Accuracy GPS Positioning Solutions

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 23, Issue 10, October 2025.
Abstract The May 2024 geomagnetic storm has been recognized as the most severe one in the past two decades and was categorized as an “extreme” (G5) event according to the NOAA space weather scales. This study applies Precise Point Positioning (PPP) software PRIDE PPP‐AR to over 5,800 worldwide GNSS receiver data to highlight the vulnerability of high ...
