The determination of myoglobin by gel chromatography

Analytical Biochemistry, 1978
Abstract The method recently described for the determination of haemoglobin in ovine muscles (1) has now been modified for the measurement of myoglobin. Evidence is presented here for the validity of using it for myoglobin determination in muscles of the rat, pig, sheep, and ox.

Resins and gels for chromatography

Journal of Chromatography A, 1970
Abstract Ion exchangers and gels for chromatography synthesized by the authors are decribed. Resins and gels for chromatography have been prepared based on copolymers of styrene and p - or m divinylbenzene. They are characterized by their high purity, homogeneity of granular composition, high mechanical strength and stability, and the ...

Chromatography of glycogens on agarose gels

Journal of Chromatography A, 1973
Abstract The chromatographic behavior of several glycogens on the agarose gels Sepharose 2B and Sepharose 4B has been investigated. These are shown to be convenient media for examination of the polydispersity and relative molecular weights of different glycogens.

Analytical Gel Chromatography of Proteins

1970
Publisher Summary This chapter describes the fundamental aspects of gel chromatography as they comprise a set of analytical techniques that a protein chemist may use. The unifying principles that underlie these techniques have been a major focus of interest.

Principles of gel chromatography

Journal of Chromatography A, 1970
Abstract The principles of gel chromatography have been examined with regard to general chromatographic theory. It is shown that the elution volume for a solute is solely determined by the partition of a solute between the mobile and stationary phases and that various forms of diffusion only contribute to the width of the peak eluted.

Gel Filtration Chromatography

Separation Science, 1971
Abstract The technique of gel filtration chromatography is described, with a guide to relevant literature on methods, theory, and applications, especially the use of GFC in analysis of molecular interactions, both macromolecular and small molecule-macromolecule aggregation.

Exclusion Chromatography Gel Permeation Chromatography

1979
In contrast to the separation techniques discussed up to now, separation by exclusion chromatography involves a single, unambiguous mechanism. In the absence of interactions (by definition) between the sample and the stationary phase surface, the elution order (or elution volume) is solely a function of the molecular size (see IX.B). Hence, this method

Gel permeation chromatography

Endeavour, 1984
Abstract Gel permeation chromatography is the most valuable single technique in the molecular weight characterisation of polymers. The power of this technique lies in its ability to give information on the whole molecular weight distribution. In Britain, the Polymer Supply and Characterisation Centre provides a GPC service for research workers in the
