Convective Diffusion Of Water In Swelling Gelatin Layers
The Journal of Photographic Science, 1992AbstractThe literature concerning the swell of gelatin layers immersed in water is reviewed. It is shown that all of the published swell equations are effectively special cases of a general empirical rate equation. In an attempt to establish mechanism, a hypothetical scheme is proposed involving a concentration-dependent intrinsic diffusion coefficient,

Water-dependent matrix orientation in thin gelatin layers
Thin Solid Films, 1993Abstract Thin gelatin layers form a matrix with fibrils of preferred orientation. This orientation depends on the thickness of the layer. Moreover, the moisture content in the nominally dry layers varies according to their thickness. These correlations are discussed.

Properties of Interfacial Layers in Multicomponent Systems Containing Gelatin
Colloid Journal, 2000The review is devoted to the analysis of the effect of the addition of various surfactants on the composition, structure, and the properties of the interfacial adsorption layers (IALs) formed at equilibrium in the aqueous gelatin solution–hydrocarbon system.

[Isolation of monocytes by adherence to gelatin-layered surfaces].
Allergie und Immunologie, 1986The method for purification of monocytes using adherence to gelatin coated glass surfaces described by Chien et al. was optimized by drastic shortening the incubation time and modifying the culture media. After one adherence step we obtained monocytes with a purity of 73-78% and a recovery of 53%.

Rheological Behavior of Interfacial Layers Stabilized by Gelatin with Lecithin
2011The effect of lecithin (natural surfactant) addition to gelatin on the surface rheological properties of the water/heptane interfacial layer and emulsion films formed by these liquids was studied. It was found that the gelatin/lecithin mixtures form complexes in the aqueous phase.

Diffraction optical elements on thick layers of dichromated gelatin
SPIE Proceedings, 1997ABSTRACTThis report is concerned with the questions of production techniques and the results of theoretical calculationand experimental investigations for diffraction optical elements (DOEs) including narrowband hologram filters (HF)and high efficient transmitting gratings (HDG) intended for using in visible and near IR ranges and made on un-hardened ...

NMR method in the study of the interfacial adsorption layer of gelatin
Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects, 1996Abstract The interfacial adsorption layers of gelatin at a benzene/gelatin solution in D 2 O interface were studied by NMR using the oil-in-water emulsions prepared by ultrasonic dispersion in conditions where the gelatin macromolecules are in a coiled conformation. The intensities of the proton signals from the gelatin decreased and the NMR spectral

AbstractThe infiltration rate of water through dry gelatin layers and the penetration rate of developing agents, OH-, HCHO and other organic and inorganic developer ingredients through gelatin layers, gel or emulsion layers were determined by five methods. The penetration of OH- through gelatin layers depends considerably on pH, ionic strength and total

Study of the structure of reflection holgrams on a dichromate gelatin layer
SPIE Proceedings, 1991The distribution of holograi structhre period and aodulation aaplitude of the gelatin refractive index in the layer thickness under different developent conditions s studied on the base of microcuts of holographic optical eIeents on a dichroaate gelatin layer. It was shown tMt development with swelling at p11:4.
