Surface and Antimicrobial Properties of Ester-Based Gemini Surfactants

open access: yesMolecules
Cationic surfactants, accounting for approximately 7% of the global surfactant market, are widely used in applications such as fabric softeners, biocides, and corrosion inhibitors. Recently, gemini surfactants—comprising two amphiphilic units linked by a

Parity‐Dependent THz Harmonic Generation in Electrically Pumped Micro‐Lasers Exploiting Topological Insulator–Metamaterial Gratings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Topological insulator–metamaterials integrated with electrically driven terahertz quantum cascade lasers enable parity‐dependent harmonic generation. Bulk‐dominated Bi2Se3 favors third‐harmonic emission at 9.96 THz, whereas topological‐surface‐state‐dominated Bi2Se3, Bi2Te3, and (Bi,Sb)2Te3 generate strong second harmonics near 6.5 THz.

Inclusion Complexes of Melphalan with Gemini-Conjugated β-Cyclodextrin: Physicochemical Properties and Chemotherapeutic Efficacy in In-Vitro Tumor Models

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2019
β-cyclodextrin (βCD) has been widely explored as an excipient for pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals as it forms stable host−guest inclusion complexes and enhances the solubility of poorly soluble active agents.

Interface Engineering of Porous Transport Layer‐Catalyst Layer in Proton Exchange Membrane Water Electrolyzers: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The PTL–CL interface plays a decisive role in PEMWE performance by governing electron conduction, water supply, oxygen removal, catalyst utilization, and interfacial stability. This review summarizes interface‐related resistance sources, characterization methods, and engineering strategies, highlighting rational PTL–CL interface design for low‐cost ...

Dynamic adsorption of a gemini surfactant at the air/water interface

open access: yes, 2015
The adsorption of a gemini surfactant, α,ω-bis(N-alkyl dimethylammonium) alkane dibromides, at the air/water interface was investigated by tensiometry. Equilibrium and dynamic surface tension were modelled by a new modelling framework, which is not based

Antibody‐Precomplexed Hemagglutinin Constructs Multivalently Bind Sialylated Glycan Receptors with Variable Valencies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Hemagglutinin precomplexation with antibodies (Abs) results in broad valency distributions, though it increases the total avidity from mM to nM to high nM. The valency distribution and the orientation of multivalent HA‐Ab complexes determine the extent of binding to different types of assays, whether the receptors are displayed in 2D or 3D.
