Reconsidering how to dry orthodox seeds for improved ex situ conservation outcomes
Ex situ seed conservation is an essential tool in our efforts to conserve wild and cultivated plant diversity, as mentioned in the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation and the Sustainable Development Goals. While there are established standards which seed banks follow, it is important that we continue to evaluate protocols and optimize processes ...

The Darwin Core extension for genebanks opens up new opportunities for sharing genebank datasets
Darwin Core (DwC) defines a standard set of terms to describe the primary biodiversity data. Primary biodiversity data are data records derived from direct observation of species occurrences in nature or describing specimens in biological collections. The Darwin Core terms can be seen as an extension to the standard Dublin Core metadata terms.

Assessing the RNA integrity in dry seeds collected from diverse endangered species native to the USA
IntroductionDry seeds do not show obvious signs of life and so testing for viability, health and life expectancy can be challenging. Usually testing seed quality involves adding water and measuring metabolic capacity or growth potential by vital staining
