The Perceived Impact of the In-Trust Agreements on CGIAR Germplasm Availability: An Assessment of Bioversity International's Institutional Activities [PDF]
This study assesses the generation and consequences of the In-Trust Agreements (ITAs) that established the legal status of the CGIAR germplasm as freely available for the benefit of humanity under the auspices of FAO. The analysis looks at the history of

ABSTRACT Biotic stresses, particularly Verticillium wilt (VW), lead to a global decline in cotton yields. Here, we demonstrate that ectopic expression of ScALDH21, a gene from the desiccation‐tolerant moss Syntrichia caninervis Mitt. and absent in angiosperms, enhances cotton's resistance to VW.

Management system of an active genebank of common bean
Genetic resources are conserved ex situ in genebanks, which are used as a source of useful alleles. The information generated by the Active Common Bean Genebank (ACBG) is stored in a Database Management system which ensures a quick and safe data recovery.

Insights into opium poppy (Papaver spp.) genetic diversity from genotyping-by-sequencing analysis
Opium poppy (Papaver somniferum) is one of the world’s oldest medicinal plants and a versatile model system to study secondary metabolism. However, our knowledge of its genetic diversity is limited, restricting utilization of the available germplasm for ...

Comparing Cold Tolerance of sorghum (S. bicolor) A1 and A2 Cytoplasm‐Based Hybrids
ABSTRACT Systematic exploitation of heterosis via breeding of F1 hybrids is a major contributor to genetic gain in many major crops, including sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench). Different cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) systems have been identified for controlled F1 hybrid seed production in sorghum, with the so‐called A1 and A2 CMS systems being ...

Evaluation of Naked Barley Landraces for Agro-morphological Traits [PDF]
Naked barley (Hordeum vulgare var. nudum L.) is a traditional, culturally important, climate-resilient winter cereal crop of Nepal. Evaluation of the naked barely genotypes for yield and disease is fundamental for their efficient utilization in plant ...

Abstract Common beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) are a highly nutritious legume crop with global significance. However, their cultivation is limited in temperate regions like Germany due to climatic and agronomic constraints. The cultivation of beans has gained attention due to their potential contribution to climate change mitigation by reducing nitrogen

ABSTRACT Mungbean is predominantly cultivated within a subtropical climate, and its potential for cultivation in temperate regions as a summer crop has not been comprehensively assessed. This research investigates the influence of temperature and seasonal variation with sowing time on mungbean phenology, growth and yield at five locations within the ...
