GENERAL AND SPECIFIC COMBINING ABILITY OF TROPICAL MAIZE GERMPLASM
Eight tropical maize populations were crossed in a diallel system. Parent and their 28 crosses were evaluated for grain yield in two plantations in 2006. The objective was to estimate the general combining ability (GCA) of the parental populations and the specific combining ability (SCA) of the crosses for grain yield. The populations were: 21, 22, 23,

Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Combining abilities for maize stem antibiosis, yield loss and yield under infestation and no infestation with pink stem borer [PDF]
The pink stem borer (Sesamia nonagrioides Lef.) is the main pest of maize (Zea mays L.) in northwestern Spain. Little is known about combining ability for antibiosis and tolerance to this pest.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Daya Gabung Dan Heterosis Karakter Vegetatif, Generatif, Dan Daya Hasil Jarak Pagar (Jatropha Curcas L.) Menggunakan Analisis Dialel [PDF]
General Combining Ability (GCA) and Specific Combining Ability(SCA) are important in creating high yielding varieties. A parent havinghigh GCA is appropriate to produce synthetic or composite varieties, whilehigh SCA is to produce hybrid.

Consequences of Truncation Selection Based on Combinations of Individual Performance and General Combining Ability [PDF]
The objective of this study is to examine in detail the immediate and longterm oonsequenoes of nine oombinations of trunoation seleotion. These oombinations result from applying one of the following oonditions to eaoh sex: (i) no seleotion, (ii) individual seleotion, and (iii) general oombining ability seleotion.

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Combining ability studies for yield and yield components trait in hybrid rice (Oryza sativa L.) [PDF]
Fifty two hybrids were generated from crossing four CMS lines and thirteen restorer lines in line x tester design. Crosses along with parents were evaluated for yield and yield component traits during rabi, 2011 at RARS, Jagtial, Andhra Pradesh ...
