Decay of correlations for nonuniformly expanding systems with general return times [PDF]
We give a unified treatment of decay of correlations for nonuniformly expanding systems with a good inducing scheme. In addition to being more elementary than previous treatments, our results hold for general integrable return time functions under fairly

Production of Metallic Foam Precursors Using Current‐Activated Pressure‐Assisted Densification
A powder compaction metallurgical method, known as current‐activated pressure‐assisted densification, is applied to enhance the compaction of metal foam precursors. This method improves precursor quality by achieving higher density, lower electrical resistivity, and more uniform pore nucleation in the resulting foams, reducing energy consumption and ...

Generalized Closeness and Decay-Stability of Some Graphs
Generalized closeness is a recently defined centrality measure. Decay stability, based on generalized closeness, was studied in [Coroničova Hurajova et al. Math. Scand., 2018, 123: 39-50] and several conjectures on decay stability of certain graph classes were put forward.

Temporal decay bounds in generalized heat conduction
The authors consider the generalized Maxwell-Cattaneo model for heat conduction in \(\mathbb R^N\) \((N = 2, 3)\). By using a suitable change of variable for the temperature \(T\) and exploiting the multiplier method, they establish an exponential decay bounds for \(T\), as well as its first partial derivatives, in the \(L_2(\Omega)\) norm.

The Adaptive Afterlife of Texts: Entropy and Generative Decay
AbstractBuilding on a tradition of exploring textual interrelationships through figurative readings and extended metaphors, this paper seeks to read adaptation as an active and creative practice of decay. The reading is couched within a broader exploration of the afterlife of texts and heterocosms via a conceptualization of textual embodiment as prey ...

Laser wire directed energy deposition process was leveraged to fabricate large scale NiTi alloy wall. Evaluation of build‐height‐dependent tribo‐mechanical properties revealed significant differences in location specific sample characteristics. The middle region achieved optimal performance (superior wear resistance, balanced strength‐ductility ...

On the Relative Decay of Unbounded Semigroups on the Domain of the Generator
Summary: We study the asymptotics of \(C_0\)-semigroups on the domain of the generator. In particular, we analyze the behavior of \(||T(t)(A-\lambda I)^{-1}||\) as time goes to infinity. Our results extend some existing results to the case when the intersection of the spectrum of the generator with the imaginary axis is non-empty.

Experimental Analysis and Physics‐Based Analytical Model on Twisted and Coiled Artificial Muscles
Twisted and coiled artificial muscles made from silver‐coated nylon fibers are investigated through experiments and analytical modeling. The actuators achieve contractions up to 19.3% and specific work of 8 kJ kg−1, though efficiency remains limited (≈0.15%) by thermal losses.

A Positron Lifetime Study of Cooling and Natural Aging of Solutionized Aluminum Alloys
The process during cooling of Al–Mg and Al–Mg–Si alloys from the solutionizing temperature down to 20 °C is interrupted. These states are analyzed with positron lifetime spectroscopy to trace the processes during cooling. In different temperature ranges, two stages of vacancy loss and solute clustering are identified.

Graded refractive index (GRI) structures are prepared from the layer‐by‐layer spray coating of the mesoporous SiO2 nanoparticles, showing high solar transparency and thermal emissivity. Under outdoor conditions, after 50 days, the GRI‐coated photovoltaics show on average 6.65 ± 1.48 °C lower than that of the non‐coated references, maintaining 80.9 ± 8 ...
