3D Printed Ultra‐Fast Plastic Scintillators Based on Perovskite‐Photocurable Polymer Composite

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
The demand for radiation detection is increasing in a number of fields, including high‐energy physics, medical imaging, and homeland security. This study serves to demonstrate the potential for the fabrication of fast perovskite‐based scintillators with complex shapes via stereolithographic additive manufacturing, representing a new path toward the ...

Engineering the Hierarchical Porosity of Granular Hydrogel Scaffolds Using Porous Microgels to Improve Cell Recruitment and Tissue Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
By fabricating and covalently assembling gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) porous microgels, a new class of granular hydrogel scaffolds with hierarchical porosity is developed. These scaffolds have a significantly higher void fraction than their counterparts made up of nonporous microgels, enhancing cell recruitment and tissue integration. This research may

Analyzing Electronic Excitations and Exciton Binding Energies in Y6 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The Y6 molecule is used for increasing the efficiency of organic solar cells. The exciton binding energy is calculated for ensembles of Y6 molecules that are representative of the typically used films. The calculations show that the excitons typically spread out over many molecules.

On the energy decay of a coupled nonlinear suspension bridge problem with nonlinear feedback

open access: yesOpen Mathematics
In this article, we study a mathematical model for a one-dimensional suspension bridge problem with nonlinear damping. The model takes into consideration the vibration of the bridge deck in the vertical plane and main cable from which the bridge deck is ...

Active Thermal Field Integration for Marangoni‐Driven Salt Rejection and Water Collection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A thermal gradient fabric (TGF) evaporator with an auxiliary active thermal field can simultaneously increase evaporation rates and achieve long‐term salt rejection. The auxiliary active thermal field is well integrated with solar energy to construct moderate, extensive, and circulating Marangoni flow for salt rejection.

General Decay for a Viscoelastic Equation with Acoustic Boundary Conditions and a Logarithmic Nonlinearity

open access: yesMathematics
In this work, we investigate the stability of solutions in a situation where the logarithmic source term competes with the viscoelastic dissipation under acoustic boundary conditions.

Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

Boundary stabilization of memory-type thermoelastic systems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
In this article we consider an n-dimentional thermoelastic system with a viscoelastic damping localized on a part of the boundary. We establish an explicit and general decay rate result that allows a larger class of relaxation functions and ...

Existence and stability results of nonlinear swelling equations with logarithmic source terms

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
We considered a swelling porous-elastic system characterized by two nonlinear variable exponent damping and logarithmic source terms. Employing the Faedo-Galerkin method, we established the local existence of weak solutions under suitable assumptions on ...

Organic Electrochemical Transistor Channel Materials: Copolymerization Versus Physical Mixing of Glycolated and Alkoxylated Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work discusses the use of blended channel materials in OECTs. It explores how mixing glycolated and alkoxylated polymers in various ratios offers a simpler and more efficient route to tuning OECT properties. The performance of the polymer blends is compared to the corresponding copolymers, demonstrating similar OECT characteristics, swelling ...
