The relativity of inertia and reality of nothing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The determination of inertia by matter is looked at in general relativity, where inertia can be represented by affine or projective structure. The matter tensor T seems to underdetermine affine structure by ten degrees of freedom, eight of which can be ...

A Novel Logarithmic Approach to General Relativistic Hydrodynamics in Dynamical Spacetimes

open access: yesUniverse
We introduce a novel logarithmic approach within the Baumgarte–Shapiro–Shibata–Nakamura (BSSN) formalism for self-consistently solving the equations of general relativistic hydrodynamics (GRHD) in evolving curved spacetimes. This method employs a “3 + 1”

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Mathematical general relativity [PDF]

open access: yesGeneral Relativity and Gravitation, 2019
We present a number of open problems within general relativity. After a brief introduction to some technical mathematical issues and the famous singularity theorems, we discuss the cosmic censorship hypothesis and the Penrose inequality, the uniqueness of black hole solutions and the stability of Kerr spacetime and the final state conjecture, critical ...

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Tests of Gravity Using Lunar Laser Ranging

open access: yesLiving Reviews in Relativity, 2010
Lunar laser ranging (LLR) has been a workhorse for testing general relativity over the past four decades. The three retroreflector arrays put on the Moon by the Apollo astronauts and the French built arrays on the Soviet Lunokhod rovers continue to be ...

Is General Relativity Really General Relativity?

open access: yes
In this short paper we briefly discuss the issue of the theory of general relativity as a supposed generalization of the theory of special relativity to see if general relativity did really generalize special relativity as a relativity theory. The simple conclusion that we reach in this discussion is that the theory of general relativity is not ...

Longitudinal genome‐wide aneuploidy measurements in circulating cell‐free DNA to predict lack of benefit from pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

Pseudo-complex general relativity

open access: yes, 2016
This volume presents an pseudo-complex extension of General Relativity which addresses these issues and presents proposals for experimental examinations in strong fields near a large mass.

General Relativity by Kawaguchi geometry

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
We construct a parameterisation invariant Lagrange theory of fields up to second order by using multivector bundles and Kawaguchi geometry. In this setup, the spacetime is an dynamical object which is a submanifold of the greater manifold, and the actual
