Empirical generalizations of demand and supply dynamics for movies

open access: yesInternational Journal of Research in Marketing, 2014
High financial risks in production and marketing, the hedonic nature of products, and the global cultural relevance of movies have encouraged a substantial number of researchers to analyze the success drivers of movies.

ON QUADRATIC FIELDS GENERATED BY POLYNOMIALS

Bulletin of the Australian Mathematical Society, 2023
AbstractLet $f(X) \in {\mathbb Z}[X]$ be a polynomial of degree $d \ge 2$ without multiple roots and let ${\mathcal F}(N)$ be the set of Farey fractions of order N. We use bounds for some new character sums and the square-sieve to obtain upper bounds, pointwise and on average, on the number of fields ${\mathbb Q}(\sqrt {f(r)})$ for $r\in ...

Generation of orthogonal lattice fields

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2019
Orthogonal polarization singularities have been introduced recently. Generation of orthogonal fields for V-points and C-points singularity entails the use of different combinations of optical elements. Some of the polarization singularity lattice fields generated by interference contain juxtaposed orthogonal C-points but not orthogonal V-points.

Gauge Fields with Generic Singularities

Mathematical Physics, Analysis and Geometry, 2000
The authors consider the motion of a particle in the presence of a strong gauge field and a potential, especially focussing on the points where the motion becomes apparently singular. It is shown that the potentials which remove this apparent singularity, constitute an Dirac algebra.

Generalized Depth-of-Field Light-Field Rendering

2016
Typical light-field rendering uses a single focal plane to define the depth at which objects should appear sharp. This emulates the behavior of classical cameras. However, plenoptic cameras together with advanced light-field rendering enable depth-of-field effects that go far beyond the capabilities of conventional imaging.
