BOOTSTRAP INFERENCE IN SEMIPARAMETRIC GENERALIZED ADDITIVE MODELS [PDF]
Semiparametric generalized additive models are a powerful tool in quantitative econometrics. The main focus is the application of bootstrap methods. It is shown that bootstrap can be used for bias correction, hypothesis testing (e.g. component-wise analysis) and the construction of uniform confidence bands.

Generalized Monotonic Regression Based on B-Splines with an Application to Air Pollution Data [PDF]
In many studies where it is known that one or more of the certain covariates have monotonic effect on the response variable, common fitting methods for generalized additive models (GAM) may be affected by a sparse design and often generate implausible ...

CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Optimal design for additive partially nonlinear models [PDF]
We develop optimal design theory for additive partially nonlinear regression models, showing that Bayesian and standardized maximin D-optimal designs can be found as the products of the corresponding optimal designs in one dimension.

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Model selection in generalised structured additive regression models [PDF]
In recent years data sets have become increasingly more complex requiring more flexible instruments for their analysis. Such a flexible instrument is regression analysis based on a structured additive predictor which allows an appropriate modelling for ...

Generalized Additive Models for Location, Scale and Shape: A Distributional Regression Approach, with Applications [PDF]
An emerging field in statistics, distributional regression facilitates the modelling of the complete conditional distribution, rather than just the mean. This book introduces generalized additive models for location, scale and shape (GAMLSS) – one of the

Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Appraisal Using Generalized Additive Models [PDF]
Many of the results from real estate empirical studies depend upon using a correct functional form for their validity. Unfortunately, common parametric statistical tools cannot easily control for the possibility of misspecification.
