Dynamic Stall Control by Passive Disturbance Generators [PDF]

open access: yesAIAA Journal, 2011
Passive cylindrical disturbance generators mounted near the leading edge of an airfoil significantly improved its performance under dynamic stall conditions. Time-resolved particle image velocimetry and simultaneous pressure measurements were conducted at the midchord of a pitching airfoil equipped with passive disturbance generators.

SOME RESPIRATORY DISTURBANCES DURING GENERAL ANÆSTHESIA [PDF]

open access: yesAnaesthesia, 1948
Summary 1. Keeping the airway clear is very largely dependent on the avoidance of reflex response. 2. The various factors which influence the bronchial lumen are considered. 3. The depressant qualities of modern anæsthetic methods make the different levels of anæsthesia less easily distinguishable.

Influence of attractive van der Waals interactions on the optimal excitations in thermocapillary-driven spreading [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Recent investigations of microfluidic flows have focused on manipulating the motion of very thin liquid films by modulating the surface tension through an applied streamwise temperature gradient.

Partially Coupled Inverse Model Design for Multivariable Disturbance Observer-Based Control Based on Generalized Relative Input Disturbance Gain

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
In this paper, a novel inverse model is designed for multivariable disturbance observer-based (MDOB) control system. A new interaction measure, generalized relative input disturbance gain (GRIDG), is proposed to quantify the disturbance rejection ...

Study on noise and disturbance issues of generalized predictive speed control for permanent magnet synchronous machines

open access: yesIET electric power applications, 2020
UK EPSRC Prosperity Partnership “A New Partnership in Offshore Wind”, Grant/Award Number: EP/R004900/1 Abstract Generalized predictive control (GPC) is promising for permanent magnet synchronous machine drive systems, due to its outstanding dynamic ...

Preparation and measurement: two independent sources of uncertainty in quantum mechanics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
In the Copenhagen interpretation the Heisenberg uncertainty relation is interpreted as the mathematical expression of the concept of complementarity, quantifying the mutual disturbance necessarily taking place in a simultaneous or joint measurement of ...

Synchronization of Two Self-Synchronous Vibrating Machines on an Isolation Frame

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2011
This paper investigates synchronization of two self-synchronous vibrating machines on an isolation rigid frame. Using the modified average method of small parameters, we deduce the non-dimensional coupling differential equations of the disturbance ...

Generalized Disturbance Estimation via ESLKF for the Motion Control of Rotorcraft Having a Rod-suspended Load

open access: yesInternational Conference on Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics, 2016
The aim of the paper is to propose a navigation strategy applied to a class of rotorcraft having a free rod-suspended load. The presented approach relies on the Linear Kalman Filter to estimate the not only the state vector but also a generalized ...

Sparse Iterative Learning Control with Application to a Wafer Stage: Achieving Performance, Resource Efficiency, and Task Flexibility [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Trial-varying disturbances are a key concern in Iterative Learning Control (ILC) and may lead to inefficient and expensive implementations and severe performance deterioration.

Robust stabilization of nonlinear systems via stable kernel representations with L2-gain bounded uncertainty [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The approach to robust stabilization of linear systems using normalized left coprime factorizations with H∞ bounded uncertainty is generalized to nonlinear systems.
