Generalized Super-Twisting Backstepping Sliding Mode Control for Electro-Hydraulic Servo Systems Considering the Coexistence of Matched and Mismatched Uncertainties

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Aiming at the problem of the coexistence of matching and mismatching uncertainties in electro-hydraulic servo systems, disturbance observers and a backstepping sliding mode controller based on the generalized super-twisting algorithm (GSTA) are proposed ...

Water waves generated by disturbances at an ice cover [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2005
This paper is concerned with two‐dimensional unsteady motion of water waves generated by an initial disturbance created at an ice sheet covering the water. The ice cover is modeled as a thin elastic plate. Using linear theory, the problem is formulated as an initial value problem for the velocity potential describing the motion in the liquid.

Design and Analysis of a Generalized High-Order Disturbance Observer for PMSMs with a Fuzy-PI Speed Controller [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
This paper proposes a generalized high-order observer for estimating total disturbance of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs). This total disturbance is dominated by load torque but also includes many other terms such as frictions, viscous force,

Generalized proportional integral observer–based composite control method for robotic thermal tactile sensor with disturbances

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2017
In this article, we discuss the temperature regulation problem of robotic thermal tactile system under unknown time-varying disturbances. In order to improve the disturbance rejection property of the thermal system, a composite controller is presented ...

The role of cognitive processes in sleep disturbance: a comparison of Japanese and English university students

open access: yes, 2002
The present study investigated the role of cognitive processes in the maintenance of clinically significant sleep disturbance across two cultures. A questionnaire was administered to 60 Japanese and 60 English university students to assess the presence ...

Generalized normal forms and disturbance rejection : a symbolic approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The paper employs a symbolic approach, making use of the computer algebra system MAPLE and the NONCON package, to compute (1) a generalized normal form for systems without a well-defined relative degree using the zero dynamics algorithm and (2) a state ...

Generalized 𝑆(𝐶,𝐴,𝐵)-Pairs for Uncertain Linear Infinite-Dimensional Systems

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2009
We introduce the concept of generalized 𝑆(𝐶,𝐴,𝐵)-pairs which is related to generalized 𝑆(𝐴,𝐵)-invariant subspaces and generalized 𝑆(𝐶,𝐴)-invariant subspaces for infinite-dimensional systems.

Speed Control of Permanent Magnet DC Motor with Friction and Measurement Noise Using Novel Nonlinear Extended State Observer-Based Anti-Disturbance Control

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
In this paper, a novel finite-time nonlinear extended state observer (NLESO) is proposed and employed in active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) to stabilize a nonlinear system against system’s uncertainties and discontinuous disturbances using

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

A nonlinear disturbance observer for robotic manipulators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
A new nonlinear disturbance observer (NDO) for robotic manipulators is derived in this paper. The global exponential stability of the proposed disturbance observer (DO) is guaranteed by selecting design parameters, which depend on the maximum velocity ...
