A Weighted Generalized Maximum Entropy Estimator with a Data-driven Weight

open access: yesEntropy, 2009
The method of Generalized Maximum Entropy (GME), proposed in Golan, Judge and Miller (1996), is an information-theoretic approach that is robust to multicolinearity problem.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Generalized-Extended-State-Observer-Based Repetitive Control for MIMO Systems With Mismatched Disturbances

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper concerns the problem of designing a modified repetitive-control system based on a generalized extended state observer (GESO) for a class of multi-input, multi-output systems in the form of a nonintegral chain and with mismatched disturbances ...

Improved Active Disturbance Rejection-Based Decentralized Control for MIMO Nonlinear Systems: Comparison with The Decoupled Control Scheme

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
A decentralized control scheme is developed in this paper based on an improved active disturbance rejection control (IADRC) for output tracking of square Multi-Input-Multi-Output (MIMO) nonlinear systems and compared with the decoupled control scheme ...

Flow disturbances generated by feeding and swimming zooplankton [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2014
SignificancePlankton compromise their survival when they swim and feed because the fluid disturbances that they generate may be perceived by predators. Because the abundance and population dynamics of zooplankton in the ocean are governed by their access to food and exposure to predators, an important question is to what extent and how zooplankton may ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

On the Maximal Invariant Statistic for Adaptive Radar Detection in Partially-Homogeneous Disturbance with Persymmetric Covariance

open access: yes, 2016
This letter deals with the problem of adaptive signal detection in partially-homogeneous and persymmetric Gaussian disturbance within the framework of invariance theory.

Thermoelasticity and generalized thermoelasticity viewed as wave hierarchies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
It is seen how to write the standard\^E form of the four partial differential equations in four unknowns of anisotropic thermoelasticity as a single equation in one variable, in terms of isothermal and isentropic wave operators.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...
