Cross-lagged relationship between anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbance among college students during and after collective isolation

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health, 2022
ObjectRepeated quarantine policies over the past 3 years have led to poor psychological consequences for the public. Previous studies have proved that the quarantine policy leaves individuals vulnerable to anxiety, depression, and insomnia, especially ...

Universal Uncertainty Principle in the Measurement Operator Formalism

open access: yes, 2005
Heisenberg's uncertainty principle has been understood to set a limitation on measurements; however, the long-standing mathematical formulation established by Heisenberg, Kennard, and Robertson does not allow such an interpretation.

Speed Control of Permanent Magnet DC Motor with Friction and Measurement Noise Using Novel Nonlinear Extended State Observer-Based Anti-Disturbance Control

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
In this paper, a novel finite-time nonlinear extended state observer (NLESO) is proposed and employed in active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) to stabilize a nonlinear system against system’s uncertainties and discontinuous disturbances using

Active disturbance rejection control of temperature of thermoelectric module

open access: yesRevista Iberoamericana de Automática e Informática Industrial RIAI, 2021
This article presents an active disturbance rejection approach for the control of the temperature in the cold face of a thermoelectric module fed by a type buck DC-DC converter. The dynamics of the module is seen as a disturbance of an unknown nature and

Estimates for practical quantum cryptography [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
In this article I present a protocol for quantum cryptography which is secure against attacks on individual signals. It is based on the Bennett-Brassard protocol of 1984 (BB84). The security proof is complete as far as the use of single photons as signal

Efficacy and Safety Analysis of Roxarestat in Regulating Renal Anemia in Patients on Maintenance Hemodialysis

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of roxarestat versus recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) in the management of renal anemia in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. Methods This was a prospective, open‐label, randomized controlled trial.

Disturbance Recognition and Collision Detection of Manipulator Based on Momentum Observer

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Increasing requirements for the safety of human-robot interaction and the cost-effectiveness of collision detection rapidly promote the development of collision detection technology without torque sensors.

Uncertainty characteristics of generalized quantum measurements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The effects of any quantum measurement can be described by a collection of measurement operators {M_m} acting on the quantum state of the measured system.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
