Metabolic and Microvascular Risk Factors Associated With Brain Health in Type 1 Diabetes

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We examined relationships between metabolic factors, microvascular complications, and brain health in adults with type 1 diabetes. Fifty‐one adults were assessed for metabolic risk factors, microvascular complications, and cognitive function, with a subset completing brain MRI.

Parametric simulations of fractal-fractional non-linear viscoelastic fluid model with finite difference scheme

open access: yesAIP Advances
Fractal-fractional derivatives are more general than the fractional derivative and classical derivative in terms of order. Fractal-fractional derivative is used in those models where the classical continuum hypothesis theory fails.

Space-Time Fractional Reaction-Diffusion Equations Associated with a Generalized Riemann–Liouville Fractional Derivative

open access: yes, 2014
This paper deals with the investigation of the computational solutions of a unified fractional reaction-diffusion equation, which is obtained from the standard diffusion equation by replacing the time derivative of first order by the generalized Riemann ...

Plasma EV Proteomics Identifies ECM Remodeling and Inflammatory Proteins LUM and C7 as Candidate Biomarkers in FSHD

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is one of the most debilitating and common muscular dystrophies. Despite its severity, no approved therapy exists for FSHD patients. However, several therapeutic candidates are currently under development, and some have recently entered clinical trials, marking the need for reliable ...

On the Approximate Controllability of Fractional Evolution Equations with Generalized Riemann-Liouville Fractional Derivative

open access: yes, 2015
We discuss the approximate controllability of fractional evolution equations involving generalized Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative. The results are obtained with the help of the theory of fractional calculus, semigroup theory, and the Schauder ...

White Matter Microstructural Abnormalities in Neonatal Onset Genetic Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Recent evidence indicates that epilepsy is associated with abnormal white matter. If seizures alter white matter, then the impact upon network function, epileptogenesis, and cognition could be pronounced in neonates undergoing rapid developmental myelination. Neonates with epilepsy due to nonstructural genetic causes provide a unique

Generalized time fractional IHCP with Caputo fractional derivatives

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2008
The numerical solution of the generalized time fractional inverse heat conduction problem (GTFIHCP) on a finite slab is investigated in the presence of measured (noisy) data when the time fractional derivative is interpreted in the sense of Caputo. The GTFIHCP involves the simultaneous identification of the heat flux and temperature transient functions

Oscillation of fractional order functional differential equations with nonlinear damping

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2015
In this paper, we are concerned with the oscillatory behavior of a class of fractional differential equations with functional terms. The fractional derivative is defined in the sense of the modified Riemann-Liouville derivative.

Integral Representation of Fractional Derivative of Delta Function

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2020
Delta function is a widely used generalized function in various fields, ranging from physics to mathematics. How to express its fractional derivative with integral representation is a tough problem. In this paper, we present an integral representation of

Fractional Brownian Motion as a Differentiable Generalized Gaussian Process [PDF]

open access: yes
Brownian motion can be characterized as a generalized random process and, as such, has a generalized derivative whose covariance functional is the delta function. In a similar fashion, fractional Brownian motion can be interpreted as a generalized random
