New Results on Fractional Power Series: Theory and Applications

open access: yesEntropy, 2013
In this paper, some theorems of the classical power series are generalized for the fractional power series. Some of these theorems are constructed by using Caputo fractional derivatives.

Epilepsy‐Associated Variants of a Single SCN1A Codon Exhibit Divergent Functional Properties

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Pathogenic variants in SCN1A, which encodes the voltage‐gated sodium channel NaV1.1, are associated with multiple epilepsy syndromes exhibiting a range of clinical severity. SCN1A variants are reported in different syndromes, including Dravet syndrome, which is associated with loss‐of‐function, whereas neonatal/infantile‐onset ...

On the New Solutions of the Conformable Time Fractional Generalized Hirota-Satsuma Coupled KdV System

open access: yesAnnals of the West University of Timisoara: Mathematics and Computer Science, 2017
In this paper, generalized Hirota Satsuma coupled KdV system is solved with tanh method and q-Homotopy analysis method. New fractional derivative definition called “conformable fractional derivative” used in the solution procedure.

Innate Immune Reprogramming Mediated by Endogenous Retroelement Dysregulation Drives Multiple Sclerosis Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Epigenetic reprogramming in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) and downstream myeloid cells, mediated by H3.3 downregulation and endogenous retroelement (ERE) overexpression, contributes to the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS). ABSTRACT Background Skewed myelopoiesis in the bone marrow has been identified as a key driver of multiple ...

An Entropy Formulation Based on the Generalized Liouville Fractional Derivative

open access: yes, 2019
This paper presents a new formula for the entropy of a distribution, that is conceived having in mind the Liouville fractional derivative. For illustrating the new concept, the proposed definition is applied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Moreover,

Paramagnetic Rim Lesions Are Associated With Trans‐Synaptic Degeneration of the Visual Pathway in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Retrograde trans‐synaptic degeneration (rTSD) from posterior visual pathway lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS) is characterized by hemi‐macular ganglion cell‐inner plexiform layer (GCIPL) thinning and contralateral visual field loss.

Synchronization in Tempered Fractional Complex Networks via Auxiliary System Approach

open access: yesComplexity, 2019
In the famous continuous time random walk (CTRW) model, because of the finite lifetime of biological particles, it is sometimes necessary to temper the power law measure such that the waiting time measure has a convergent first moment.

New Generalized Reverse Minkowski Inequality and Related Integral Inequalities via Generalized ·-Fractional Hilfer-Katugampola Derivative

open access: yes, 2021
This article aims to present the reverse Minkowski inequalityand other related integral inequalities by using the generalized k-fractionalHilfer-Katugampola derivative. We have novelized these inequalities byutilizing the Hölder inequality. Moreover,

Normal‐Appearing White Matter Injury Mediates Chronic Deep Venous Hypoxia and Disease Progression in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore how cerebral hypoxia and Normal‐Appearing White Matter (NAWM) integrity affect MS lesion burden and clinical course. Methods Seventy‐nine MS patients, including 13 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 66 relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, and 44 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited from ...

A New Approach to Generalized Fractional Derivatives

open access: yes, 2011
The author \mbox{(Appl. Math. Comput. 218(3):860-865, 2011)} introduced a new fractional integral operator given by, \[ \big({}^ρ\mathcal{I}^α_{a+}f\big)(x) = \frac{ρ^{1- α}}{Γ(α)} \int^x_a \frac{τ^{ρ-1} f(τ) }{(x^ρ- τ^ρ)^{1-α}}\, dτ, \] which generalizes the well-known Riemann-Liouville and the Hadamard fractional integrals. In this paper we present a
