Smoothness properties of generalized convex functions
We present a concise and elementary proof of a theorem of Karlin and Studden concerning the smoothness properties of functions belonging to a generalized convexity cone.

Physics‐Embedded Neural Network: A Novel Approach to Design Polymeric Materials
Traditional black‐box models for polymer mechanics rely solely on data and lack physical interpretability. This work presents a physics‐embedded neural network (PENN) that integrates constitutive equations into machine learning. The approach ensures reliable stress predictions, provides interpretable parameters, and enables performance‐driven, inverse ...

Short‐range order in 2D transition metal dichalcogenides is revealed as a new design paradigm. Driven by chemical affinity and atomic size, it governs properties across scales. Weak ordering tunes site‐resolved magnetism and d‐band centers, while strong ordering eliminates gap states to open band gaps.

Smoothness spaces built upon generalized Morrey spaces [PDF]
Let 0 0. These spaces, together with the generalized Besov–Morrey spaces Ns φ,p,q(Rd) and the generalized Triebel–Lizorkin–Morrey spaces Es φ,p,q(Rd), nowadays are called generalized Morrey smoothness spaces.

Characterization of Best Algebraic Approximation by an Algebraic Modulus of Smoothness [PDF]
The author introduced in an earlier paper a modulus of smoothness for nonperiodic functions based on an algebraic addition ⊕ defined on [−1, 1]. In this paper the Steklov functions and an equivalentK-functional are given.

Multiferroic order parameters – polarization, magnetization, and ferroelastic strain – are positioned as dynamic design variables for batteries. Their mechanistic roles, practical tuning through fabrication and external fields, and ferroic‐resolved characterization routes are unified into a closed‐loop framework, revealing how coupled ferroic responses

We introduce a vision‐based real‐time monitoring system for additive manufacturing that detects subtle moisture‐induced degradation via a diffusion model‐based framework. The approach enables nondestructive assessment of moisture‐induced damage level and mechanical performance and establishes a practical route toward more intelligent, reliable, and ...

Best trigonometric approximation and modulus of smoothness of functions in weighted grand Lebesgue spaces [PDF]
In this work, first of all, L-omega(p),theta) (T) weighted grand Lebesgue spaces and Muckenhoupt weights is defined. The information about properties of these spaces is given. Let T-n be the trigonometric polynomial of best approximation.
