On the generalized Morse potential

Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1999
Summary: The equivalence between the generalized Morse (GMP) and Eckart potentials is shown. The study of the hypergeometric Natanzon potentials using \(\text{SO}(2, 1)\) techniques is applied to compute the eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of the Eckart (GMP) potential.

A generalized Morse function as cleavage potential

Materials Science and Engineering, 1971
Abstract The properties of a generalized Morse type exponential function in describing cleavage are investigated for a number of face-centered and body-centered cubic metals. The suggested potential and stress functions are partly controlled by two different curvature parameters, which can be determined according to three different methods.

A Generalized Frenkel-Kontorova Model with Morse Potentials

Chinese Physics Letters, 1997
A generalized Frenkel-Kontorova model with the Morse potentials is studied. The phase diagram reflects the nonlinear nature of the Morse potential. The correspondences of the ground states and the orbits of the area-preserving map are studied numerically. Our results present a better simulation to the real systems.

A generalization of the morse potential for diatomic molecules

Journal of Molecular Spectroscopy, 1967
To describe the vibrational spectra of diatomic molecules the potential curve V (r) is approximated by a sum of three Morse functions. This approach has the advantage of being more flexible than the simple Morse potential while preserving the correct asymptotical behavior: V (∞ = const.

A Modern Approach for the Identification of the Classical and Modified Generalized Morse Potential

Nanoscience & Nanotechnology-Asia, 2020
Introduction:This paper proposes an approach for parameter estimation of the Classical and Generalized Morse Potential functions. A new potential which is a modification of the Generalized Morse Potential was proposed as parameter estimates yielded complex conjugate roots using gold atom for simulation. Methods:Existing methods of parameter estimation ...

Generalized morse analytic function for the “true” diatomic potential of the RKR type

Journal of Computational Chemistry, 1993
AbstractThe problem of the representation of the RKR (or IPA) diatomic potential by a simple analytic function is considered. This old problem has for a fairly good solution the Coxon‐Hajigeorgiou function U(x) = D[1 ‐ exp‐fn(x)]2 with fn(x) = Σ amxm.

Analytical and numerical solutions of the time fractional Schrödinger equation for generalized Morse potential

Modern Physics Letters A, 2023
This paper investigates the fractional Schrödinger equation (FSE) with the Caputo time fractional derivative for the generalized Morse potential, which has not yet been presented for this equation. This study depends on the analytical solution of the FSE by the method of integral transforms and the numerical solutions are presented by plotting the ...

Exact analytic solutions generated from stipulated Morse and trigonometric Scarf potentials

Physica Scripta, 2011
Summary: The extended transformation method has been applied to the exactly solvable stipulated Morse potential and trigonometric scarf potential, to generate a set of exactly solvable quantum systems (QSs) in any chosen dimension. Bound state solutions of the exactly solvable potentials are given. The generated QSs are generally of Sturmian form.
