Comparative effectiveness of generic and brand-name medication use: A database study of US health insurance claims.

open access: yesPLoS Medicine, 2019
BackgroundTo the extent that outcomes are mediated through negative perceptions of generics (the nocebo effect), observational studies comparing brand-name and generic drugs are susceptible to bias favoring the brand-name drugs.

The Effect of Amino Acids on the Formation of Amorphous Calcium Carbonate Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biomineral formation often proceeds via the assembly of amorphous calcium carbonate (ACC) nanoparticles with narrow size distributions. Using in situ SAXS coupled to a stopped‐flow device, we follow synthetic ACC formation with a 10 ms time resolution and show that amino acids narrow the size distribution at low supersaturation, highlighting their key ...

Generic immunosuppressants

open access: yesPediatric Nephrology, 2017
Immunosuppressive drugs for solid organ transplantation are critical dose drugs with a narrow therapeutic index. Many of the most commonly used innovator drugs are off patent and have been replicated by generic counterparts, often at substantial cost-savings to the patient.
