NGF-mediated transcriptional targets of p53 in PC12 neuronal differentiation

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2007
Background p53 is recognized as a critical regulator of the cell cycle and apoptosis. Mounting evidence also suggests a role for p53 in differentiation of cells including neuronal precursors. We studied the transcriptional role of p53 during nerve growth

β‐Catenin/c‐Myc Axis Modulates Autophagy Response to Different Ammonia Concentrations

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2025.
Ammonia, detoxified by the liver into urea and glutamine, impacts autophagy differently at varying levels. Low ammonia activates autophagy via c‐Myc and β‐catenin, while high levels suppress it. Using Huh7 cells and Spf‐ash mice, c‐Myc's role in cytoprotective autophagy is revealed, offering insights into hyperammonemia and potential therapeutic ...

3D Bioprinted Glioblastoma Multiforme Models: How the Extracellular Matrix Glycosignature Influences Drug Response

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Aberrant glycosylation in the glioblastoma tumor microenvironment drives therapeutic resistance. Here, a 3D bioprinted model was engineered by incorporating α‐NeuNAc‐(2→3)‐β‐D‐Gal‐ and chondroitin sulfate. Combined multiplex immunofluorescence and synchrotron‐based nanoCT analysis revealed that glycan‐matrix interactions dictate specific drug‐escape ...

Late Cornified Envelope Group I, a Novel Target of p53, Regulates PRMT5 Activity

open access: yesNeoplasia: An International Journal for Oncology Research, 2014
p53 is one of the most important tumor suppressor genes involved in human carcinogenesis. Although downstream targets of p53 and their biologic functions in cancer cells have been extensively investigated, it is still far from the full understanding ...

TP53 Loss Elevates NF-κB-IFN-β-MHC-Ia Signaling to Promote NK Cell Resistance in Osteosarcoma. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
TP53 loss in a transforming or osteosarcoma cell promotes cytosolic DNA accumulation, activating NF‐κB‐dependent IFN‐β production. Autocrine IFN‐β signaling increases cell‐surface HLA‐Ia expression, strengthens inhibitory KIR signaling in natural killer cells, and thereby enables the affected cell to evade NK cell‐mediated cytotoxicity.

Reversing Temozolomide Resistance in Glioblastoma Based on Cuproptosis-Mediated Positive Feedback Loop. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
To effectively reverse TMZ resistance, this work proposes a cuproptosis‐mediated positive feedback loop that integrates mitochondrial dysfunction, ATP depletion, AMPK‐p53 signaling, and glycolytic inhibition, ultimately amplifying cell death. This cuproptosis‐mediated feedback loop simultaneously disrupts multiple resistance pathways in GBM, including ...

Cellular Responses to Mechanical Cues Across Scales: From Fundamental Insights to Translational Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how cellular behavior is regulated by mechanical cues transmitted through soft biomaterials, from single‐cell mechanosensing to tissue‐level adaptation. It highlights why physiological relevance, rather than model complexity alone, is critical for translational mechanobiology and introduces a scoring framework linking material ...

Overcoming Photodynamic Therapy Resistance: GSH‐Responsive AIE Photosensitizer‐Hydroxycamptothecin Nanoliposomes for Extrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A GSH‐responsive AIE nanoplatform (TSH NPs) with RGD‐mediated tumor targeting co‐delivers a photosensitizer (TPA) and HCPT for extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. The system synergistically enhances PDT and chemotherapy by suppressing HIF‐1α/VEGF‐driven hypoxic adaptation, effectively overcoming PDT resistance.

Mutation of the p53 Gene in Gallbladder Cancer.

open access: yesThe Tohoku Journal of Experimental Medicine, 1994
Genetic alteration of the p53 gene was examined in tissue specimens of primary gallbladder cancer (GBC) using PCR-single strand conformation polymorphism (SSCP) and direct sequencing analyses. The p53 gene mutation was detected in five of the 16 GBC cases examined (31%).

Gene mutations and expression in breast cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Bibliography: leaves 163-190.Breast cancer is the most common cause of death amongst women, with the incidence of the disease varying between countries. Like all other cancers, breast cancer is a multigenic disorder with mutations in oncogenes and tumour
