Analysis of Gene‐Gene Interactions

Current Protocols in Human Genetics, 2017
AbstractThe goal of this unit is to introduce epistasis, or gene‐gene interactions, as a significant contributor to the genetic architecture of complex traits, including disease susceptibility. This unit begins with an historical overview of the concept of epistasis and the challenges inherent in the identification of potential gene‐gene interactions ...

Genes and Gene Expression

Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, 2000
Gene therapy is the process whereby a therapeutic protein is synthesized from a DNA molecule (gene) that has been inserted into the cells. The goal is to produce the desired protein in the proper quantity in the proper location. Successful designing of vectors for gene therapy requires knowledge of gene structure and regulation.

Gene-Gene and Gene-Environment Interactions

2018
Identifying gene-gene and gene-environment interactions may help us to better describe the genetic architecture for complex traits. While advances have been made in identifying genetic variants associated with complex traits through more dense panels of genetic variants and larger sample sizes, genome-wide interaction analyses are still limited in ...

Gene-Gene Interactions

2012
Chapter 8 discusses gene-gene interactions. The focus is on two-locus interactions. Different genetic models are incorporated in the two-locus models. The expressions of odds ratios for the main genetic effects and the gene-gene interaction are given. A saturated logistic regression model is also studied.
