Genetic algorithm dynamics on a rugged landscape [PDF]
The genetic algorithm is an optimization procedure motivated by biological evolution and is successfully applied to optimization problems in different areas. A statistical mechanics model for its dynamics is proposed based on the parent-child fitness correlation of the genetic operators, making it applicable to general fitness landscapes.

FoxO1 signaling in B cell malignancies and its therapeutic targeting
FoxO1 has context‐specific tumor suppressor or oncogenic character in myeloid and B cell malignancies. This includes tumor‐promoting properties such as stemness maintenance and DNA damage tolerance in acute leukemias, or regulation of cell proliferation and survival, or migration in mature B cell malignancies.

Statistical Inference for Genetic Relatedness Based on High-Dimensional Logistic Regression [PDF]
This paper studies the problem of statistical inference for genetic relatedness between binary traits based on individual-level genome-wide association data. Specifically, under the high-dimensional logistic regression models, we define parameters characterizing the cross-trait genetic correlation, the genetic covariance and the trait-specific genetic ...

Insights into PI3K/AKT signaling in B cell development and chronic lymphocytic leukemia
This Review explores how the phosphoinositide 3‐kinase and protein kinase B pathway shapes B cell development and drives chronic lymphocytic leukemia, a common blood cancer. It examines how signaling levels affect disease progression, addresses treatment challenges, and introduces novel experimental strategies to improve therapies and patient outcomes.

Functional variation among LPMOs revealed by the inhibitory effects of cyanide and buffer ions
This study addresses the inhibition of lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases (LPMOs) by cyanide and explains how and why the magnitude of observed inhibitory effects depends on the way LPMO reactions are setup and on the type of LPMO. Enzymes known as lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases (LPMOs) are mono‐copper polysaccharide‐degrading peroxygenases that ...

Low‐density lipoprotein receptor‐related protein 6 (LRP6) is a key receptor for the Wnt antagonist Dickkopf1 (DKK1). DKK1 protein expression is induced in a bleomycin (BLM)‐induced lung injury model. We show that DKK1 induces proinflammatory and profibrotic genes in lung fibroblasts.

THE EVOLUTION OF GENETIC CORRELATIONS: AN ANALYSIS OF PATTERNS [PDF]
The genetic correlation is a central parameter of quantitative genetics, providing a measure of the rate at which traits respond to indirect selection (i.e., selection that does not act upon the traits under study, but some other trait with which they have genes in common).

Characteristics of the Kelch domain containing (KLHDC) subfamily and relationships with diseases
The Kelch protein superfamily includes 63 members, with the KLHDC subfamily having 10 proteins. While their functions are not fully understood, recent advances in KLHDC2's structure and role in protein degradation have highlighted its potential for drug development, especially in PROTAC therapies.
