Genetic exchange and evolutionary divergence in prokaryotes
Trends in Ecology & Evolution, 1994Recent work shows that genetic exchange in prokaryotes is less frequent but more promiscuous than that in eukaryotes. As a result, genetic exchange plays very different roles in determining the patterns of evolutionary divergence in these major groups.

GENETIC DIVERGENCE IN GRAIN SORGHUM
Madras Agricultural Journal, 1983Genetic divergence was assessed in 30 varieties of sorghum using D statistics for eight characters related to yield. The population was grouped into 8 clusters. Clusters 11. I, and III were large and consisting more than two third of the total popu- lation.

The genetic divergence of three populations
Theoretical Population Biology, 1987This paper extends the study of genetic divergence in \textit{G. A. Watterson}'s [ibid. 27, 298-317 (1985; Zbl 0572.92016)] two samples drawn from two populations after the original population giving rise to them has split. The author now considers three samples drawn from three populations after the split.

The genetic divergence of two populations
Theoretical Population Biology, 1985Two samples are drawn from two independently evolving populations some time after their split from a base population. Assuming that the genetic divergence is influenced only by neutral mutation and drift, the paper provides analytical formulas and numerical examples for the probability distribution of the allele frequencies in the samples, the number ...
