Soil parameter identification using a genetic algorithm

International Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, 2007
AbstractThis paper is dedicated to the identification of constitutive parameters of the Mohr–Coulomb constitutive model from in situ geotechnical measurements. A pressuremeter curve and the horizontal displacements of a sheet pile wall retaining an excavation are successively used as measurements.

Genetic parameters of growth curve parameters in male and female chickens

British Poultry Science, 1999
1. Individual growth curves of 7143 chickens selected for the form of the growth curve were fitted using the Laird form of the Gompertz function, BW4=BW0xe(L/K)(1-e-Kt) where BWt is the body weight at age t, BW0 the estimated hatching weight, L the initial specific growth rate and K the maturation rate. 2. Line and sex effects were significant for each

Kaolinite-genetic and thermoanalytical parameters

Journal of Thermal Analysis, 1997
Different genetic types of kaolinite were investigated from the point of view of crystallinity. The measurements were carried out by means of different methods of thermal analysis, infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. The different parameters of the degree of crystallinity based on a series of 85 nearly monomineralic samples were critically ...

Parameter-free adaptive genetic algorithm

2014
A new adaptive approach, which applies the concept of relative importance of information to the genetic algorithm, is developed. Selection, crossover and mutation are parameter-free in the sense that the problem at a particular stage of evolution chooses the parameters automatically.

Common parameters in genetic athymia and senescence

Experimental Gerontology, 1974
Abstract Immunoglobulins M predominate over immunoglobulins G in the sera of both, young nude mice and old C57B1. It is not clear whether the rise in the IgM/IgG and IgM/IgG1 ratios observed in the C57B1 strain beyond the first year of life characterises also senescence in other strains. Up to the age of 1 year at least, these ratios fall rather than
