Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...

Genetic tools and techniques for Chlamydomonas reinhardtii [PDF]
The development of tools has always been a major driving force for the advancement of science. Optical microscopes were the first instruments that allowed discovery and descriptive studies of the subcellular features of microorganisms. Although optical and electron microscopes remained at the forefront of microbiological research tools since their ...

Knowledge discovery is the most desirable end product of an enterprise information system. Research from different areas recognizes that a new generation of intelligent tools for automated data mining is needed to deal with large databases. In this sense, induction based learning systems have emerged as a promising approach.

On classification tools for genetic algorithms
2008 International Multiconference on Computer Science and Information Technology, 2008Some tools to measure convergence properties of genetic algorithms are introduced. A classification procedure is proposed for genetic algorithms based on a conjecture: the entropy and the fractal dimension of trajectories produced by them are quantities that characterize the classes of the algorithms.

The “chip” as a specific genetic tool
Biological Psychiatry, 2000DNA microarrays are powerful tools for the analysis of the organization and regulation of the brain, in both illness and health. Such messenger RNA expression methods are outgrowths of a marriage between the several genome sequencing projects and a wide variety of physical, chemical, optical, and electronic systems.

Genetic Algorithms-a Tool for OR?
Journal of the Operational Research Society, 1996Summary: Compared with other metaheuristic techniques such as simulated annealing and tabu search, research into the use of genetic algorithms for the solution of OR problems is still in its infancy. This paper provides an introduction to genetic algorithms and their use in the solution of both classical and practical operational research problems ...

On Stability and Classification Tools for Genetic Algorithms
Fundamenta Informaticae, 2009Convergence of genetic algorithms in the form of asymptotic stability requirements is discussed. Some tools to measure convergence properties of genetic algorithms are introduced. A classification procedure is proposed that is based on the following conjecture: the entropy and the fractal dimension of trajectories of genetic algorithms

Genetic Tools from Nature and the Nature of Genetic Tools
Crop Science, 2006The opportunity to apply genetics to the improvement of crops is greater now than any time in history. Agricultural advancements will depend even more on genetics in the future as we try to produce more food, while being in harmony with the environment.
