Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

4. Gene vectors: Crossing natural barriers to genetic manipulations
Not available – first paragraph follows: The potential application of genetic engineering to agriculture has been predicted to be limitless. Such enthusiasm, however, should be expressed judiciously, because much information is needed before we can ...

Gene therapy of malignant glioma with retroviral vectors and tumor-infiltrating progenitor cells [PDF]
Gene therapy as a therapeutic strategy in the treatment of human gliomas is limited by the efficacy of gene transfer and intratumoral distribution of viral vectors.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Searching for partial Hadamard matrices [PDF]
Three algorithms looking for pretty large partial Hadamard ma- trices are described. Here “large” means that hopefully about a third of a Hadamard matrix (which is the best asymptotic result known so far, [8]) is achieved.

Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

An efficient CRISPR vector toolbox for engineering large deletions in Arabidopsis thaliana
Background Our knowledge of natural genetic variation is increasing at an extremely rapid pace, affording an opportunity to come to a much richer understanding of how effects of specific genes are dependent on the genetic background.
