Gene and Pathway-Based Analysis: Second Wave of Genome-wide Association Studies [PDF]
Despite great success of GWAS in identification of common genetic variants associated with complex diseases, the current GWAS have focused on single SNP analysis.

Genome-wide analysis of mRNAs associated with mouse peroxisomes [PDF]
RNA is often targeted to be localized to the specific subcellular compartments. Specific localization of mRNA is believed to be an important mechanism for targeting their protein products to the locations, where their function is required. In this study we performed the genome wide transcriptome analysis of peroxisome preparations from the mouse liver ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

The challenge of detecting genotype-by-methylation interaction: GAW20
Background GAW20 working group 5 brought together researchers who contributed 7 papers with the aim of evaluating methods to detect genetic by epigenetic interactions. GAW20 distributed real data from the Genetics of Lipid Lowering Drugs and Diet Network

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Genome‐Wide Association Analysis Identifies LILRB2 Gene for Pathological Myopia
Pathological myopia (PM) is one of the leading causes of blindness, especially in Asia. To identify the genetic risk factors of PM, a two‐stage genome‐wide association study (GWAS) and replication analysis in East Asian populations is conducted.

Genome-Wide Association and Linkage Analysis of Quantitative Traits: Comparison pf Likelihood-Ratio Test and Conditional Score Statistic [PDF]
Over the past decade, genetic analysis has shifted from linkage studies, which identify broad regions containing putative trait loci, to genome-wide association studies, which detect the association of a marker with a specific phenotype.

Patterns of genetic diversity and linkage disequilibrium in a highly structured Hordeum vulgare association-mapping population for the Mediterranean basin [PDF]
Population structure and genome-wide linkage disequilibrium (LD) were investigated in 192 Hordeum vulgare accessions providing a comprehensive coverage of past and present barley breeding in the Mediterranean basin, using 50 nuclear microsatellite and 1 ...
