Mediation of Polygenic Asthma Risk Through Gene Expression

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
We apply published PRSs in African‐ancestry individuals and quantify the extent to which the PRS‐asthma relationship is mediated by clinical biomarkers and gene‐expression signatures of asthma. We found the best PRS to be the one derived using the largest sample size and including African‐ancestry individuals.

Targeting Immunologic Pathways in Eosinophilic Granulomatosis With Polyangiitis: Translating Emerging Evidence Into Clinical Practice

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) is a rare and potentially life‐threatening systemic, inflammatory disease with multi‐organ manifestations, variable presentation and complex pathology. Multiple interconnected immunological pathways are implicated in EGPA pathology, including a type‐2 immune response driving predominantly ...

The Testicular Cancer Consortium (TECAC): Filling Knowledge Gaps in the Genetic Etiology of Testicular Germ Cell Tumors

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The Testicular Cancer Consortium (TECAC) was established in 2012 and is comprised of researchers from over 25 centers in Europe and North America. TECAC's overarching goal is to investigate the genetic susceptibility of testicular germ cell tumors (TGCT) to better understand their biology, impact prevention strategies, and inform ...

Advances in the genetics of refractive errors: Contributions from the CREAM consortium

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, EarlyView.
Abstract The Consortium for Refractive Error and Myopia (CREAM) was established in 2011, bringing together an international team of researchers studying more than 30 cohorts. Since its establishment, CREAM has played a pivotal role in research investigating the genetics of myopia and other refractive errors, serving as a key driver of progress in the ...

Psychedelics, entactogens and psychoplastogens for depression and related disorders

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Currently, the most actively investigated rapidly acting antidepressants, anxiolytics and/or anti PTSD agents, include psychedelics e.g. psilocybin, LSD, N,N‐dimethyltryptamine, ayahuasca; non‐hallucinogenic entactogens, e.g. MDMA; psychoplastogens which rapidly promote neuroplasticity, e.g.
