Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Characterization of Walls Are Thin 1 Family in Cucumis sativus and Functional Identification of CsWAT1-20 in Response to Podosphaera xanthii

open access: yesHorticulturae
Cucumber (Cucumis sativus) is an economically important vegetable but powdery mildew (caused by Podosphaera xanthii) limits cucumber production. The WALLS ARE THIN1 (WAT1) gene is crucial for regulating secondary cell wall thickness and is pivotal in ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Trans-ethnic comprehensive genomic cluster stratification of upper tract urothelial carcinoma

open access: yes
[[abstract]]Introduction & Objectives: Previous genomic studies on upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) revealed characteristics compared to urinary bladder urothelial carcinoma (UBUC), but no endemic and epidemiologic specialties.

Mapping of Multiple DNA Gains and Losses in Primary Small Cell Lung Carcinomas by Comparative Genomic Hybridization [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Comparative genomic hybridization was applied for a comprehensive screening of under- and overrepresentation of genetic material in 13 autoptic small cell lung cancer specimens.

Genomic and functional characterization of coleopteran insect-specific α-amylase inhibitor gene from Amaranthus species

open access: yes, 2017
The smallest 32 amino acid α-amylase inhibitor from Amaranthus hypochondriacus (AAI) is reported. The complete gene of pre-protein (AhAI) encoding a 26 amino acid (aa) signal peptide followed by the 43 aa region and the previously identified 32 aa ...

Construction and characterization of a Lipotes vexillifer genomic DNA BAC library

open access: yes, 2007
We constructed a genomic DNA library for Lipotes vexillifer (L. vexillifer), the Baiji or Yangtze River dolphin, one of the most endangered mammals in the world.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.
