Current Management of Patients with HCV Genotype 4

2021
Around 70 million people are chronically infected with HCV worldwide. HCV anti-viral drug development has been remarkable, and this revolution led to several direct-acting antiviral agents achieving an HCV cure after only 8–12 weeks of treatment duration. Epidemiological data had showed increasing prevalence of HCV genotype 4 worldwide.

[The molecular differences between genotype 1 and genotype 4 of HEV in their neutralization region].

Bing du xue bao = Chinese journal of virology, 2008
HEV is classified into H (human) group and Z (zoonosis) group according to its compatible host. H group contains genotype 1 and genotype 2 HEV isolates which infect human only; Z group contains genotype 3 and genotype 4 HEV isolates which infect both human and animals.

Treatment of Chronic Hepatitis C, Genotype 4

Current Hepatitis Reports, 2013
HCV-genotype 4 is the predominant genotype in patients in North-East (especially in Egypt and Lybia) and Sub-Saharan Africa and in most Middle Eastern countries and is spread by migration and IVDU to Europe in the last years. Current treatment consists of peginterferon-alfa2 plus ribavirin (Peg/RBV) combination therapy using a response guided approach ...
