Inferring genotyping error rates from genotyped trios [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
Genotyping errors are known to influence the power of both family-based and case-control studies in the genetics of complex disease. Estimating genotyping error rate in a given dataset can be complex, but when family information is available error rates can be inferred from the patterns of Mendelian inheritance between parents and offspring.

MeCP2 Lactylation Protects against Ischemic Brain Injury by Transcriptionally Regulating Neuronal Apoptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
MeCP2 lactylation protects against ischemic stroke by reducing brain infarct volume and improving neurological outcomes. Lactylation at K210/K249 exerts neuroprotective effects by repressing the transcription of apoptosis‐associated genes, including Pdcd4 and Pla2g6. HDAC3 and p300 serve as key regulatory enzymes for MeCP2 lactylation following stroke.

Variant genotyping with gap filling.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
Although recent developments in DNA sequencing have allowed for great leaps in both the quality and quantity of genome assembly projects, de novo assemblies still lack the efficiency and accuracy required for studying genetic variation of individuals ...

Learnable Group Transform: Enhancing Genotype-to-Phenotype Prediction for Rice Breeding with Small, Structured Datasets [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Genotype-to-Phenotype (G2P) prediction plays a pivotal role in crop breeding, enabling the identification of superior genotypes based on genomic data. Rice (Oryza sativa), one of the most important staple crops, faces challenges in improving yield and resilience due to the complex genetic architecture of agronomic traits and the limited sample size in ...

Oxytocin Improves Autistic Behaviors by Positively Shifting GABA Reversal Potential via NKCC1 in Early‐Postnatal‐Stage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
New research reveals that oxytocin signaling during the early postnatal period is critical for regulating brain development and social behavior. Selectively suppressing oxytocin neurons by chemogenetic method shows that early—but not late—disruption leads to autism‐like behaviors.

Efficient method for identification of Escherichia coli strains isolated from various chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus) organs

open access: yesВавиловский журнал генетики и селекции, 2015
Tracing of transmission routes and identification of pathogen sources are important issues in preventive measures aimed at controlling human and animal infectious diseases.

Targeted Delivery of α‐ketoglutarate to Macrophages in Bone: A Novel Therapeutic Strategy for Improving Fracture Healing in Type 2 Diabetes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study reveals that glutaminolysis in macrophages is inhibited under type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) conditions, which impedes fracture healing by reducing bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP2) production through increased cytosine methylation on the promoter.
