Shifts and plasticity of plant leaf mass per area and leaf size among slope aspects in a subalpine meadow

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 11, Issue 20, Page 14042-14055, October 2021., 2021
LMA and leaf size significantly changed along a south‐to north facing slope aspect gradient indicating a leaf strategy change in different habitat. Soil moisture and the availability of soil P are the two most important factors that relate to both LMA and leaf size.

Integrated quality evaluation strategy for multi-species resourced herb medicine of Qinjiao by metabolomics analysis and genetic comparation

open access: yesChinese Medicine, 2020
Background Quality evaluation of multi-species resourced herb medicine (MSRHM) is a main problem for quality control of herb medicine. Current quality evaluation methodology lost consideration of species discrepancy.

Lineage‐specific plastid degradation in subtribe Gentianinae (Gentianaceae)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 11, Issue 7, Page 3286-3299, April 2021., 2021
This study traces plastome evolution of all main lineages of the species‐rich group Gentianinae, and shows lineage‐specific patterns of plastid degradation and shifts in substitution rates. Abstract The structure and sequence of plastid genomes is highly conserved across most land plants, except for a minority of lineages that show gene loss and genome

Heyne, Roth, Roemer and Schultes, and the plant names published in Novae plantarum species praesertim Indiae orientalis

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 70, Issue 2, Page 365-428, April 2021., 2021
Abstract In 1814, A.W. Roth received a herbarium collection of some 1500 plants from Benjamin Heyne. Most of these specimens came from southern India where Heyne had worked as a doctor and naturalist since 1792. Roth wrote up the material in his book Novae plantarum, which was published in 1821.

Metabolic reprogramming of proinflammatory macrophages by target delivered roburic acid effectively ameliorates rheumatoid arthritis symptoms

open access: yesSignal Transduction and Targeted Therapy, 2023
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a common chronic inflammatory disorder that usually affects joints. It was found that roburic acid (RBA), an ingredient from anti-RA herb Gentiana macrophylla Pall., displayed strong anti-inflammatory activity.

Study on effects of sweating treatment and different drying methods on the quality of Gentianae macrophyllae Radix [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
AbstractTo provide basis for improving the quality of Gentianae macrophyllae Radix and optimising the field processing method. Gentianae macrophyllae Radix samples were collected from Long County. Five main active iridoids were determined by using HPLC. The HPLC fingerprints were measured and analysed by the traditional Chinese medicine chromatographic

Iridoids and Flavonoids of Four Siberian Gentians: Chemical Profile and Gastric Stimulatory Effect

open access: yesMolecules, 2015
Some Gentiana species have been used by the nomadic people of Siberia as bitter teas or appetizers to eliminate digestive disorders (dyspepsia, heartburn, nausea, etc.). We studied the most frequently used gentians: Gentiana algida, G.

Bitter Gentian Teas: Nutritional and Phytochemical Profiles, Polysaccharide Characterisation and Bioactivity

open access: yesMolecules, 2015
As a result of the wide distribution of herbal teas the data on nutritional characterisation, chemical profile and biological activity of these products are required. The decoctions of Gentiana algida, G. decumbens, G. macrophylla and G.

Anti-Rheumatic Properties of Gentiopicroside Are Associated With Suppression of ROS-NF-κB-NLRP3 Axis in Fibroblast-Like Synoviocytes and NF-κB Pathway in Adjuvant-Induced Arthritis

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2020
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is among the most prevalent forms of autoimmunity. Gentiopicroside (Gent) is an iridoid glucoside derived from the Gentiana Macrophylla Pall which is used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat RA.

Controlling factors of plant community composition with respect to the slope aspect gradient in the Qilian Mountains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Slope aspect can affect soil temperature and soil type distribution, which, in turn, is likely to influence plant community composition. Three Qilian mountains, located in the northeastern part of the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau, China, with four distinct ...
