Local Structures of Se and Br in Cretaceous–Paleogene Boundary Sediments and Concentration Effects of Ferrihydrite Originating From Impact Ejecta

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Chemical states of Se and Br atoms in the KPg boundary sediments from Stevns Klint were studied using XAFS spectroscopy. The high concentrations of Se4+ could become an index of the degree to which the global environment was soiled with dust and ash derived from impact ejecta or volcanic eruptions.

A Siklósbodony Sb-1 mélyfúrás feltételezett karbon-perm határképződményeinek ásványtani, kőzettani és geokémiai jellemzői | Mineralogical, petrographic and geochemical characteristics of siliciclastic rocks from the supposed Carboniferous–Permian boundary in borehole Siklósbodony Sb–1, south-western Hungary [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A tanulmány a Siklósbodony Sb–1 fúrásban 700 m mélységben feltételezett karbon–perm határ közvetlen környezetéből származó törmelékes üledékes kőzetminták részletes ásványtani, kőzettani és geokémiai jellemzését mutatja be.

The Influence of Asymmetrical Formation from Makassar Basin to the Geochemical Characteristics of Mallawa Formation

open access: yesJGEET: Journal of Geoscience, Engineering, Environment and Technology
A functional hydrocarbon system relies on three key elements: source rock, reservoir rock, and seal rock. These components are essential in assessing the hydrocarbon potential of a region. In South Sulawesi, the Makassar Basin shows promise for petroleum

Apatite in Carbonatite Preserving Primary Magmatic, Post‐Magmatic Overgrowth, and Post India‐Asia Collision‐Related Hydrothermal Alteration: Evidenced From U–Pb Isotope and Trace Element Geochemistry

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
U–Pb isotope and trace element geochemistry of apatite from carbonatites of Peshawar Plain Alkaline Igneous Province, western Himalaya shows Permo‐Carboniferous magmatism, an additional magmatic pulse during Cretaceous, and post‐magmatic hydrothermal/metasomatism during Oligocene. ABSTRACT U–Pb isotope and trace element geochemistry of apatite combined

Heterogeneous Exhumation Mechanisms in Neoproterozoic Collisional Metamorphism: P–T Constraints From Pelotas and Punta del Este Terranes, Southern Brazil and Uruguay

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Petrography, thermobarometry, and pseudosection modelling reveal peak metamorphic conditions of 3–7.5 kbar and 520°C–800°C in Tonian‐Cryogenian orthogneisses of the Dom Feliciano Belt. Metamorphic field gradients of 27°C/km–39°C/km and variable exhumation mechanisms support correlation of these units as remnants of a Himalayan‐type Piratini Orogeny ...

Preparation of Seven Certified Reference Materials for Floodplain Sediments

open access: yesYankuang ceshi, 2018
BACKGROUND Floodplain sediment, which is an important sampling media for geochemical mapping, can represent the average distribution of elements in the basins and has universal applicability. At present, there is no floodplain sediment reference material

Miocene to Quaternary Tectonostratigraphic Evolution of the Northern Section of the Burdur‐Fethiye Shear Zone, South‐Western Türkiye

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
New zircon ages reveal that lacustrine sedimentation initiated in the Late Miocene (Messinian), revising earlier Pliocene age assignments. The study results support the interpretation of the northern BFSZ as a broad left‐lateral transtensional shear zone rather than a discrete sinistral fault or simple extensional graben array.
