A new smooth failure criterion for concrete inspired by Lubliner's condition

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract A new failure criterion with 10 parameters is proposed, based on Lubliner's idea of joining two Drucker–Prager cones. The novelty lies in the way of introducing deviatoric shape variation: through two Podgórski's functions. This feature allows for improving plane stress cross‐section's compatibility with experimental data.

Identification of the spatial position of permanent GPS stations in the Baltic region

open access: yesAviation, 2012
Since the last decade of the 20th century, data on repeated measurements from the Global Positioning System (hereinafter referred to as GPS) have been commonly used globally to investigate the motion of the Earth's crust. With the use of data on repeated

Coordinate systems and geodetic measurements in industrial measurements

open access: yes, 2021
Many industrial applications and installation activities like assembling boats chassis, mills rotary shafts installations or even measuring deformations in big motors or airplanes, all these kind of works need survey measurements with very high degrees of accuracy like of sub-millimeter degree, to achieve such a high level of accuracy we need devices ...

Landscape factors influencing predation on capercaillie nests by two competing mesopredators: pine marten and red fox

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Predation by pine martens Martes martes and red foxes Vulpes vulpes is an important factor influencing the population dynamics of capercaillie Tetrao urogallus. However, there is a knowledge gap regarding the relative effects of these mesopredators on the reproductive success of capercaillie. To better understand how various landscape factors influence

Habitat imprinting in breeding territory selection of a long‐lived bird of prey

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, EarlyView.
A unique long‐term dataset has allowed this study of an important habitat selection mechanism, habitat imprinting, in a species which is typically extremely challenging to study. It gives us better understanding of the role of early experience in selection of breeding sites in long‐lived species with high breeding site fidelity.

Aggregated Compensation Peer Group Disclosure and Managerial Labor Market Competition: A Network Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Accounting Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we develop novel measures of managerial labor market classification and competition by constructing networks of compensation benchmarking peers disclosed in proxy statements. These networks represent firms’ relative positions within the managerial labor market.

Hurricane‐induced risk contagion in commercial real estate: Evidence from Hurricane Sandy

open access: yesReal Estate Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract This study examines how hurricane‐induced destruction affects the prices of nearby undamaged commercial real estate properties, using Hurricane Sandy as a natural experiment. Using Real Capital Analytics transaction records spatially merged with Federal Emergency Management Agency building‐level damage data, we empirically employ a difference ...
