Computer program analyzes and designs supersonic wing-body combinations [PDF]
Computer program formulates geometric description of the wing body configuration, optimizes wing camber shape, determines wing shape for a given pressure distribution, and calculates pressures, forces, and moments on a given configuration.

Cosmological parameters from large scale structure - geometric versus shape information
The matter power spectrum as derived from large scale structure (LSS) surveys contains two important and distinct pieces of information: an overall smooth shape and the imprint of baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO).

A flexible geometric model for leaf shape descriptions with high accuracy [PDF]
Accurate assessment of canopy structure is crucial in studying plant-environment interactions. The advancement of functional-structural plant models (FSPM), which incorporate the 3D structure of individual plants, increases the need for a method for ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Elastic Geometric Shape Matching
In computational geometry, geometric shape matching (GSM) problems are among the classical and well-studied geometric optimization problems. In a conventional GSM problem, the pattern P and the model Q, both from a class S of geometric shapes, are given, along with a suitable distance measure d.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Construction of Local-Shape-Controlled Quartic Generalized Said-Ball Model
Said-Ball curves and surfaces are extensively applied in the realm of geometric modeling. Their appearance is only decided by the control points, which produces a great deal of inconvenience for the shape design of sophisticated products.

Shape deformation analysis from the optimal control viewpoint [PDF]
A crucial problem in shape deformation analysis is to determine a deformation of a given shape into another one, which is optimal for a certain cost. It has a number of applications in particular in medical imaging.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These
